I think each person needs to decide whether you/they are investing long term or trading short term.  If you are investing long term, then you cant react to every small piece of news,  that is probably going to hurt you, don’t react emotionally to what you read in the forums. Assess the situation and then respond, yes we are now open source, and someone found a way to skew the masternode payments in their favor and will probably make 100 or 200 DRK out of that, the problem has a very limited scope and is not worth reacting to, is not threatening to the network at all.  Evan will patch it and we move on. Only consequence a few masternodes will miss some payments while the patch is deployed, why is it such a big deal?

There is a new solution for payments already on testnet, this issue is really contained, it looks like someone will get a new PS4 out of it or something. Is that reason to dump your 100K investment? Think more before you act.

Fairly sure BagHolder010 doesn't really have a 100K investment.

I am sure you are correct, I was just putting some perspective out there for lurking investors and newcomers.

Please buy my order at .02 Mintpal because I am FAIRLY  sure you won't. I would be happy to get my BTC's back even thou BTC prices are down.

will have to go through my 40 BTC floor first.

What's wrong I thought you believe in Dark being $20 then $300, wasn't that you?

Lets assume you bought at the top of the market, we get it, there is people that bought BTC @ 1200 USD they must be concerned too.  The  short term market dymanics and the fundamentals of the project are independent from each other. I do believe that in due time you will see your investment grow, but it will take time because you invested at the top of the first bubble, same as the btc  holders that bought at the ATH. Your options are to hold patiently as you can see the development is progressing fast and things look good or you dump at these prices and give other people the opportunity to get in at the bottom of the market. If you do the latter you would have effectively panic bought then panic sold which is the worst combination for any investor, my advice to you is to hold for a year if you can afford it if not then as much as you can to give the project the opportunity to mature. I hope you do well.

God willing I can wait a year, I hope people here don't think someone would just put over 150k and that all he/she have.

Thank you I hope you do well too.

I'd also like that any decision that is based in Ego is most likely the wrong one. Even if it can lead to a right one with time, we might as well save that time.

I'm glad my idea of naming releases after eminent members is well received (tied for top and I haven't even voted  Grin)

To celebrate, I propose to have the first release in my name  Grin Grin

I think is fun to brainstorm about ideas,  but naming the releases after individuals would be sectarian and uninviting to newcomers, just my opinion.  If you are going down that route a better option would be to auction the release name and use it to fund development, like Android goes, KitKat, etc.

I was just about to post something similar. Not a big fan of naming after community members either. Needs something more marketable to appeal to those outside of the "inner circle" of supporters.

Actually, you changed my mind.

I first thought naming after famous crypto people. Then I thought this should be about the community and encouraging people to join the DRK community. But I think you are right, it would not be seen as encouraging people in, but a little club.  So my vote for the top one, should be changed to places that tried to ban bitcoin / crypto.

 Huh

Hi coins 101,

I really like the page you made for the community, that's awesome. But I don't really enjoy the way this ''voting'' process of yours works and how it limits people to what you decide to include in your vote(or how they interpret the parts you include without all the thinking or justification that went into them...). Which is why I have never voted on it… Sorry, but if a voting system is implemented it should include access to detailed information about all the options, amongst other things that would need to be discussed (and voted upon? lol)…. imo, but I appreciate what you are trying to do.

As for naming, how about a theme based on Saturn's moons. Plenty of good ones to choose from:

Atlas
Prometheus
Pandora
Anthe
Tethys
Telesto
Calypso
Titan
Hyperion
Tarvos
Narvi
Aegir
Loge
Ymir
Janus
Mimas
Chiron

and 45 more.

How about Darksend Direct?

If you have 100K, you would not come here and cry. Because you would think it would hurt your investment. So either you have that much drk, but you are retard. Or you are lying piece of shit retard. But in both case you are piece of shit retard scum until you prove that you have that much coin. You can prove it by moving it all to address and share the address before you move, so we believe you. Until then, you will stay as retard. Oh and piece of shit and a scum and bunch of other names.

Would you or anyone here believe me that I don't know how to put my coins into a wallet? OR put it into a Masternode? I barely understood how Exchanges work  Shocked... But whatever to you I am a liar because you think everywhere who has invested or planning to invest into crypto suppose to be somehow born with a computer in their hands.

Ok, could the person who found the bug post here, I promise no one's gonna hate on you. Would be interesting to hear how long it took to find it, and how did you approach it? And also, would you help testing DRK in the future? Smiley

To whomever dumped 20K+ on Cryptsy immediately after seeing strange MN payments: I get it. I really do. Shoot first, ask questions later. This strategy probably works for the majority of untested PoS (i.e. shit) and most new technology coins on the market. But not with Darkcoin. We've got a solid, well tested bitcoin fork with a top notch developer. Worst thing can happen, somebody games some payments until our awesome community sees it and our rockstar developer Evan fixes it.

But, do not worry, you are welcome to join the community again. Please do fill up your account with the DRK you just sold.

p.s. anyone who says "weak hands" is a bunch of BS, remember this incident. 20K + DRK transferred from the trigger finger weak hand holder - one or two maybe - into the many hands of eager investors waiting to catch a bid below.

And to be honest, from what I can tell, its hardly heist of the century.  Its the principle of the matter which is the concern.  A proof that masternode payments can be fooled.  Anyway, sounds like a quick fix.
This is what open source is all about.

Patch already compiling.

How quickly this was squished & how little panic there was is super bullish for DRK.  Grin

The hamburgler has so far managed to steal 36DRK.  I've mined more than that today.  Not supposed to be a boast...more a perspective on the financial impact of this attack.

Lol, I thought he would get a PS4 out of it but it looks like he is going to have to settle for a Wii U.  Anyway, in reality I think is a great service to DRK that he was looking for holes, so whoever you are thank you. I hope you enjoy Zelda.

Dude, everybody here who has Darkcoin is loosing money when price drops BUT most of us have been through so much shit that we manage to stay calm. Once you sunk that much money in crypto, your only option is to be patient. If we still have enemies that means we must be doing something right  Wink  You will get back many fold of your investment but in the long term and only if you stay calm.
