Can someone please explain the differences between Darkcoin and Anoncoin?

Anon coin is only for the tor network. Darkcoin should be anonymous on the internet full stop ('period' for my american friends)

OK, so this is what I'm talking about.......

I have 72 cores working for around 14 hours staight. My reward for this is 50 coins. Surely there is something wrong here.....
This below is from my workers screen on http://pool.darkcoin.io/index.php?page=dashboard :-
Khash/s Difficulty

   196    1.00

   252    1.00

Can you point out what CPU's do you use?

currently running 3 azure trials (60 cores) and server at home with 2X  Xeon quad 2.33 and a laptop with i3 m370 2.4ghz (i think that quad core as it runs 4 threads??)

Honest Tim. How did you get 3 trials? Did you use credit cards from 2 other members of your family? or 3 of your own? What about the address you put down, is the free trial only one per household? Please let me know so I can do it also. lol  Thanks!

family members. I have heard that it all revolves around the card. IP / phone used to verify etc don't matter. I've heard you're allowed 2 trials per card but I am uncertain whether these can run concurrently. I found a thread where one guy got completely banned because he did this, whereas if he simply ran his trial to completion and then setup another he could have had a solid 8 days of serious (relative I know, but I'm talking CPU for the average Joe) hashing with 20 cores for free. Instead he ended up with nothing and being completely banned. I'm not risking it myself, but as soon as one ends, the other will begin. If I KNEW it was safe to run them concurrently I would have already done it.

DRK go! Go! GO! Price will be equal litecoin price!

Please lets not start that just yet. We are currently in baby stages.
Exactly. We should all keep in mind that it still might turn out to be impossible to reach the goal of anonymity. However, me personally think that the other elements of this coin are worthwhile, but perhaps not of the Litecoin amplitude...

hi, everyone,  i found my wallet synchronizing with network failed today.

and is stop at 15199 block. does anyone have the sanme problem ?

There was a fork done at 15200. You need to upgrade to the new wallet. However, I am not 100% how you should proceed so as to not lose coins. At this stage I would hang tight and wait for someone who does. I am 99% sure what you need to do, but I have no knowledge of exactly how forks effect previously held coins.

Just make a backup of your wallet.dat in case, and update the darkcoin-qt.exe. It will work just fine.

Mike just chill, this happened to someone yesterday. I'll see if I can find the post. Did you backup your wallet.dat first?

yes, i backup. and address is Original in new wallet, but not receive coins from pool i have cash out.

ok, I would go to another pc and install the old wallet again. Then replace the wallet.dat with the one you backed up and see what happens.

thanks!
in new wallet .transaction history and balance is the same as old .but transaction before update wallet is lost.

OK so you have your coins back. Deep breath, panic over.
Whats this "transaction before update"?

DATABLOCKCHAIN.IO SALE IS LIVE | MVP @ DBC.IO
And now, how about collecting a good hefty bounty for a working effective GPU miner? I'd put down up to 1000 DRK - not much but if many people donate it'll build up.

If more people are interested I could work on GPU miner for a bounty. I already have something more or less working (pools are accepting shares, also solo-mined one block this night with it), but it's still very slow (nearly 2 MH/s on Radeon R9 290). Unfortunately I can't promise it will get much faster, still working on possible optimizations.

This below is from my workers screen on http://pool.darkcoin.io/index.php?page=dashboard :-
Khash/s Difficulty

Difficulty has been all over the place the last 24h. When it was up around 90 you'd be getting very little for 72 cores. Now that it's down to ~40 you might see 100 or so DRK per 24h with 72 cores. But it will jump around a lot, since this is still a very new coin that many are still discovering. And there is a wildcard in terms of botnets or whatever it is those 110 Mh/s miners on cpu-pool.net are controlling.

Thanks for that. At the end of the day, if the pool says I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing, then it simply has to be "the way it is". It's just so easy to think your missing something really obvious when dealing with tech.

I doubt you're doing anything wrong, it's just an extremely volatile coin for miners right now. Also keep in mind the pools are getting their projection calculations all wrong for DRK (massively overestimating earnings), so that's another things that might be confusing.

we just got hit with the biggest botnet in history..  Undecided

Don't think it's a botnet.  Just a huge farm.

Probably, hashrate is very steady. This shows how this coin is drawing attraction ...
That farm/whale is long gone. He showed up with 2GH/s, it was spectacular!
