GPU advantage among CPU is lower than on different algo, but i don't think there is so much cpu farm. Big miners switched to alternate algos instead of scrypt, and some come to GroestlCoin, that's all. It's still possible to mine for little miners, and a good time to buy. I almost double my GRS amount buy trading (with some profit too)

Admin of DwarfPool.com
Is any problem with Dwarfpool? I keep getting disconnected.... Angry
Dwarfpool works fine, please send me your login-wallet and IP address, may be it was blocked in firewall.

all cpu coins died,
big cpu farmers are mining GRS now,
they dont even pay for electricity, they dump and dump.that is why there is so high hashrate but the price is still going down!
we should do something against it.

Uh yeah i was thinking about switching to groestl but this kinda keeps me off Sad
A bunch of CPU farms dumping isnt all that attractive right now Smiley

CPU/GPU farms… bah Humbug!

The DGW Difficulty adjustment should minimize their profits and discourage farmers.

Smiley

In the meantime its a good time to pick up more GRS while price is still low Smiley

i use an old nvidia card with 1.1 compute cuda
i have a phenomenal KH/s but no shares found for 1 hour

ccminer is only compiled for compute 2.0, compute 3.0 and compute 3.5 cards

if you have the source code you can attempt a compute 1.x build. But quarkcoin/animecoin
build on the thrust library, and thrust's minimum requirement is Compute 2.0

The groestl algorithm might work though, provided that you manage to compile...

Christian

Christian Buchner in person - what an honour!
Thank you for weighing in…
Oh HOLY ***
i didn't see the name!!!!! what a honor
While you're here could you speak to the Groestl (Grøstl) algo's performance on NVIDIA compared with other algos
thanks,

Dorian (child_harold)

OK thx for the reply but it's hard to me to compile one for 1.1 compute
i'm ignorant about compiling.

I believe in this coin and the promise of its algo to provide optimal performance mining on multiple platforms (NVIDIA, AMD, x86, x64, and now maybe ARM). Adam Back, creator of hashcash, who hates altcoins conceded that an algo which provided low ASIC advantages would be an "improved PoW."

adam3us: @streamuse1 "what qualities could improved PoW have?" I think its nearly impossible but low ASIC advantage. people dont seem to get hw wins.

I think we have that coin + we perform on all platforms. After further optimizations no coin will come close to us with the Grøstl algo.

srcxxx

For rescuing this coin and providing leadership and steering at the helm,

I would like to tip you 2500 GRS

I believe in you as Dev, and I believe in this coin.

For your good works till now and for those in the future I urge others to tip you as well. They dont have to match mine (they could be more Smiley ) but as a show of spirit from our community I would ask all of you to make a small contribution.

Please provide a personal tipping address,

thanks a million srcxxx

Id like tio get people's views on the mining rewards / block reduction

At the current rate we're mining the coins fast.

Should we increase block size reduction (e.g. 6% > 12% > 24%)  or something else to extend the mining time for this coin?
^not like this

thanks in advance for your thoughts.

My opinion is to stay at the current 6% rate and when the reward will be close to 50 coins, the last reduction remains on 50 coins. Thereafter standard halving will be every four years. This can be good still for a newcomer and also it can help to stabilize the price.

hmmm... interesting idea Smiley
