I wanna buy 100K HUC , Please PM me )

nobody will have 100k

is on block 24000 ... 24000*10 = 240k coins (that's including the ones on the map, on players, and locked coins for cost of players)

+ pre-allocation, which 90% will be untouched for a long time probably. i.e. 25k bounty for namecoin rebase, and dev bounty.

Coin distribution will be pretty good

Snailbrain, do you intent to release a wallet without the game ? People who wnat to use it as a real wallet may want to have it very responsive and reliable . Also excehange may not want to un it.

Also, do you have plans on facilitating catch up on the datachain, I doubt new adopters would join easily after a few weeks

Sorry, I guess you already had the questions but didn't went through all the 60 pages in here Smiley

it will not be much difference unless it was some special lite client..
it's the same with namecoin -- only the blocks are really fast atm.. if your pc is bad, you may lag.

if you can't sort -- either buy an ssd, or use ubuntu in a vmware (if using windows).. (i don't have an ssd tho)

if you want to play with what you have now on  windows, then you need to make sure your PC is running good, and your hard drive with datadir is not full (ish) or fragmented.

Download Defraggler, and degrag datadir , and move it to the end of your hard drive (assuming you have freespace Smiley)

again.. i'm using windows, and had no probs at all (while at the same time also in a vmware)

I have an AMD 8350 8 core, 20gb ram... and normal hard drive... it's all about hard disk activity tho

I hope I don't die fast and lose the coin and be back to square one lol

don't stay in spawn area for 30 blocks, or you die Smiley

haha thanks. Is there a limit to how many times you can move per day?

no.. but if you move far you may get transaction fees

Oh ok. Didn't know that either, but that's good to know.

I mined for 3 hours with 2.8 Mh/s and I haven't made even one coin, nothing but rejects. Can't even play the game because I need coins. Maybe the coins needed to play the game should have been added after a long time and many people play and difficulty rises. Or maybe get a giveaway without needing to sign up to other forums, i'm tired of signing up for forums.

unless you have insane hash power, mining with hardware is going to be difficult

My point exactly. How do I start playing the game then?

use giveaway thread on dot-bit forum... just this one and only time i sent you 10

Thank you!!! I received them Smiley I will try the game now so excited... thanks Smiley

You need just 1.005 to start playing it, there are many active giveaways that will give you 10HUC.

I get this error when I try to compile on Ubuntu 12.04

Haven't had this issue with other scrypt coins.

net.cpp:(.text+0x9fb): warning: Using 'gethostbyname' in statically linked appli       cations requires at runtime the shared libraries from the glibc version used for        linking
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgcc_s
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [huntercoind] Error 1

you have some missing dependencies (i think)  - i don't use linux hardly.. but i compiled huntercoind on 3x 12.04 ubuntus
i also got some errors with it similar, i solved it, then there was something else, then something else, so in the end i just installed all these dependences (you don't need them all but i was in a rush lol) - probably it will solve the problem, or someone who knows what they are talking about may help -- i will find out tomorrow if you haven't solved it

I finally figured this out. I'm on ubuntu 12.04 I installed libboost-chrono1.48-dev and all of its suggested packages and I was able to compile then. These are the packages:

libboost-chrono1.48-dev libboost1.48-doc libboost-date-time1.48-dev libboost-filesystem1.48-dev libboost-graph-parallel1.48-dev libboost-graph1.48-dev libboost-iostreams1.48-dev libboost-locale1.48-dev libboost-math1.48-dev libboost-mpi1.48-dev libboost-program-options1.48-dev libboost-python1.48-dev libboost-random1.48-dev libboost-regex1.48-dev libboost-serialization1.48-dev libboost-signals1.48-dev libboost-system1.48-dev libboost-test1.48-dev libboost-thread1.48-dev libboost-timer1.48-dev libboost-wave1.48-dev xsltproc doxygen default-jdk

Thanks! You should add HUC to your donation sig =) I'll send some if I get this working.

I already had all of those installed surprisingly, same error on compiling.
Which make commands did you use to compile if you don't mind me asking?

I found a fix after lots and lots of installs.
sudo apt-get install libglib2.0-dev libglibmm-2.4-dev

Is there any way to speed up the syncing process?
I turned off my wallet last night, because when I'm not playing the game, I don't want my computer to be under such stress (it does seem resource intensive), but got home from work and turned wallet on at 7:30 (over an hour ago) and it says I was 18 hours behind, its STILL updating/syncing now (says I'm only 4 hours behind now).

I'm on a Six core processor, 16 GB Ram (1600 Mhz), a "mechanical" but at least Sata 1 TB HDD, and a 60 MB Internet Broadband...cannot be my computer and I hope it isn't just "because I'm using windows"?

Is there a way to download the blockchains from more nodes or something?

need to be patient.. without an ssd it's painful.. it is the same for namecoin.. don't force close client or you may corrupt some data, and need to re-download from scratch.

once it has caught up it should be fine

____

for people that are lagging.. is nothing really to do with amount of players (atm)... it's because blocks are coming in very fast, and ntfs is shit..

if you defraggler on the datadir .. it should be fine.. for a bit

as i said.. i'm on mechanical hard drive - Windows 7, Huntercoin Client + Vmware (with ubuntu + Huntercoin Client) on the same hard drive... is ok for me.. but.. i did use defragler to move datadir to end of hard drive (with lots of free space around it).

When difficulty gets higher and blocks are 1 minute.. it will be easier, and a lot slower to get coins..

at 1min blocks.. it will take 10 hours to get from yellow to red

or a full day to get to the centre and back....

People playing now are early adopters have got it easy at this speed of blocks

p.s. i have not mined/harvested any coins since release.. so if anyone wants to donate, please donate to the address in OP (currently have just 50 HUCs donated Smiley )
