So I will actually update this as, wow, funny how things turn out.

So the NEOSVR team had a big fight or something, they did a boardroom coup to kick the CEO out and remove NCR from the game.

Allegedly, the ceo siphoned off lots of money from neosvr.
Allegedly, the neosVR team consipired to kill ncr in secret.  They sold their crypto to players and users in game p2p, then hit uniswap and dumped within days of each other.  Every last ncr they had.  Only when the token was sub 1$ and obviously murdered did they release a statement saying they would still allow ncr "as a third party app"
lmao

so another rug pull, but this time it turns out they really, really, really hate crypto and wanted to inflict maximum damage on everyone involved.  savage.  And also the CEO, who knows how much he made.

allegedly this is what happened if we follow transactions on the blockchain and personal p2p transaction logs from some users.  This all happened in november, info came out in january and feb.
68 million, 18 000 ETH poof

Alright, updates, updates, updates.  Let's have a look at what's going on.
->MMC22 competition is live in a week or so with over 100k NCR as prize money, so go ahead and enter its worth it.

As for NCR....well that's another story.  So since the pump up to 10$ almost and the following inevitable dump (as all shitcoins do) to 3$ there have been a few concerning issues with the ICO.

The Neos team has indicated that staking will begin in Q1, but no other news has been given.  Recently over 1million ncr has come out of the deployer address (no eth going in), but no explanation was given other than "book keeping".  In any case, staking will only dilute small holders who wont put up the fees to stake their ncr and does nothing really for liquidity or in game economy.  No other changes have been proposed publicly.

The patreon has grown to be one of the biggest patreon's out there.  That is because you get NCR with your patreon pledge, depending on the amount.  They opened up a lot of high tier packages, the top ones which give access to so called "board meetings" where strategy and other issues are discussed with the team members.  So basically in a way, some users have complained this is a pay for inside information thing, and aren't too happy about it.  It creates a lot of rumors and hype/fear cycles that team members/board members/some ncr channel moderator can trade on.  It does raise a big ethical question.

The contract still has 5000 ETH in it, which is a large amount.  However, the actual amount deposited is over 2-3x that amount.  There was a big "buyback", which raised a bunch of red flags, at around 6$, then 5$ which basically served to permit large (and small i guess) pumpers/team members to cash out without crashing the price.  That also raised a big ethical question.

---

Now for the actual game (which is still fun and still has amazing people in it)

The last update/build for the client was pushed on November 10th as per steamdb.  So almost 3 months, no updates.  Take into consideration this is a game that used to have basically DAILY updates.  The lead dev has not been seen for that time and there are rumors of conflict within the team.  So no updates have been pushed to the client and none are scheduled afaik.

The last tweet from the lead dev is from November.
The last tweet from the official account is from December 3rd afaik, but has retweeted a bunch of stuff.

No real official communications since then.  So basically, get a bunch of money and go silent.

From this point we can go a few ways -> maybe they will update the client and release new features, etc and expand NCR capabilities, maybe with a staking contract and a L2 solution in game.  Who knows ?  Just as likely that nothing will happen for a while and that indicates other possibilities, like the company getting bought out, taking the ETH with them and leaving all ncr holders with, well, NCR tokens.  ncr tokens do not entitle the hodler to anything really, there is no DAO or claim on the ETH in the contract address.

So I do not know what happens from here, however it is a really good game and platform but I have to say the number of red flags popping up are just too numerous and important to ignore.

This will be my last post on this topic, SLATFATF.

So, few updates, new year and all.  Well, the ncr price has dropped back down to 3$ from the peak at around 9-10$, market cap 100-150m.  prices go up, prices go down, ya know the drill.

In other news, the team and Solirax now have a VERY nice war chest to continue dev work for years to come.  From what I know -> 2 people were hired to work on the technicalz, there will be a new website/update and the ICO will be ended before reaching the end of batch 500.  The remaining coins, so far, will be reserved for a staking pool to increase liquidity in the markets for trading.  I have no details.  Timeline for this will be end of Q1/early Q2.  End of ICO will possibly mean listing on a major CEX.  In game this changes nothing really.

In more important news, a new UI will be unveiled at a TBD date in 2022 and there will be other quality of life/performance improvements to the platform.  Player numbers are up but statistics are hard to come by because of the split of the steam version / standalone version with NCR enabled.  There are more and more VR users and 2022 will be a great year for new VR gear including new tracking tech, haptics (gloves) and new headsets.

Again I am not a member of the team or anything and this is all unofficial news.  The team did take a break for the holidays and i'm sure a lot of discussion has gone on regarding the future of the platform.  Users and traders have complained of lack of marketing/communications/PR to promote the game but team considers upcoming QOL improvements necessary before onboarding large amounts of users.  That did create some friction but IMO its smooth sailing from here on out.

Happy new years everyone, 2021 was an amazing year for VR, and neos, and 2022+ will only get better.

I'll try to answer your question, for the capability

Thanks for the awesome reply fr4nkthetank,,, I have been looking at many many types of these online VR forms of interviews/presentations ala Decentraland but better. This was quite nice to see and as I said, first time I saw.

It is definitely quite intimidating as you say though as I went to the website and now realize from your response,,, I need some gear to do the same thing, which is probably going to affect adoption.

I'll try to answer your question, for the capability - Anything you see Neos Team doing you can do, and more.  Everything is available to the public, but it can be intimidating to get started.  Some people have old school looking avatars because they've just kept the same avatar for years.  With eye tracking and face tracking, you can frown and have your avatar frown, etc.  I think everything is still limited by hardware and processing power but there have been massive improvements recently.

You can check out this video that explains avatars a lot : https://youtu.be/OHyl90_X9SQ?t=1092
Some people have haptics too, like in this video : https://youtu.be/Wj5ffKm_wmo?t=739

Ideally some day you will be able to have hyper realistic avatars that will show your actual emotion, just like looking at a real person.  Kinda like in the book Snowcrash.
NeosVR is free on steam !  I didn't make any of the videos, I just port news and updates to bitcointalk Smiley

Hey guys wow, just exploring all the stuff in projects/tokens board as usual and I have to saw your videos are,,, pretty cool;)

Still quality suffers a little bit and maybe the avatars are still a bit too limited but it is really a new type of format I have not seen before.

Can I ask how we can do the same thing? Is this capability open to public on Neos? I would like to try this:)

New week new update !

Frooxius | CTO — 07/09/2021
Hello @everyone and welcome to another weekly update!

In big news, the VBLFC furry con is taking place this weekend, starting today!

This is the first con held officially in Neos VR and we are proud to host it on our platform. You can find more information at their Discord and Twitter or register at the website here:
https://virtual.goblfc.org/
https://twitter.com/virtualblfc?lang=en

They have a lot of exciting events planned. We hope everyone will enjoy their time there!

This week we have briefly shifted focus from BEPUv2 integration to integrating the SignalR push notification service for our messaging system and other cloud optimizations to improve responsiveness and fix a number of issues, such as message history not loading for certain users.  Thanks to this new system, the load on the cloud infrastructure has significantly dropped. This should keep the cloud responsive even during busy days with lots of people on and keep scaling as the community keeps growing.  It also opens up doors for new upcoming features and abilities, like full real time sync for cloud variables, cloud impulses and optimizing other parts of the cloud infrastructure. We also used it to improve security of the moderation system, ensuring that any account restrictions take immediate effect.  Security and moderation have received some more improvements as well, preventing some cases of ban evasion. You can now also restrict the in-game File Browser to only specific locations, or none at all.

new update, check out the streaming center in VR !

Frooxius | CTO — Today at 2:19 PM
Hello @everyone and welcome to another of our weekly updates!

Since our major focus is on integrating BEPUv2, we have mostly smaller additions, tweaks and bugfixes to talk about, but hopefully still good ones. We also have some big news for the team itself!

@CanadianGit and @Raith (CytraX) | Moderation have now joined the official Neos team! Raith is going to continue his work as programmer on our ticket system and serve as one of the moderation leads,
while Canadian Git has been training moderators, making sure that tickets get responded to and otherwise ensuring that things run smoothly in the background.

With direct access to team communication channels, resources and having a direct voice in the team, they will help to ensure that Neos and its community keeps growing in a healthy and safe way.

To provide more communication channels, we have also started official Office Hours on the Discord! You can see more information in our previous announcements and on our Wiki page: https://wiki.neos.com/Office_Hours

The MTC Streaming & Recording hall has now also officially been released to the public! It not only serves as a good learning resource for Neos' camera system, microphone and Twitch integration, but a good utility world with a stage, different sets and highly customizable green screen.  We have also closed about 30 GitHub issues from the community, implementing numerous additions to the custom context menu system, better nullable support in LogiX, SteamVR detection for Oculus headsets, as well as fixing some elusive bugs, notably avatar legs randomly jumping up or getting twisted and some videos having glitchy audio.

Some smaller features have been added too, notably we expanded the ability to control access to headless sessions with cloud variables, including a custom message when access is denied or support for leg haptics with bHaptics. Read below for more info!

Freeform Camera

As  the last major addition to the first phase of our new Desktop mode we  have implemented a Freeform Camera mode, which makes the building  process without VR much easier. In this mode, you can decouple your view  from your avatar and freely fly around the scene. Currently it is bound  to the F6 key, but will be changed in the future.  The mode also  frees up your mouse cursor, allowing you to interact with the scenes and  gizmos without having to turn your view. To change the view, hold the  Ctrl on your keyboard and then the Right Mouse button to trigger panning  mode. You can release Ctrl afterwards. While panning the camera, you  can also use movement controls to fly around.

https://youtu.be/O3CAU6xAsWQ

You can also focus the camera on a specific object in the scene. Either  hover over it with the cursor in Freeform camera mode and press Ctrl+F,  or select it with the developer tooltip and press the F key. In focused  mode, the view will move with the object and you can use Alt+Right Mouse  button to orbit the view around and Scroll Wheel to zoom in and out.  While  you’re in this mode, Neos also shows a visual to represent your view to  other users in the world. This is fully customizable as well as it’s  simply a part of the avatar and we’ve already seen people do some  creative stuff with it!

Overall we hope that this mode will  complete a well rounded basic set of camera modes for both socialization  and building in the Desktop mode, with easy switching between first  person, third person, UI Aligned camera and Freeform, as well as  switching between desktop and VR when you have a VR headset.

UI Aligned Camera and other Desktop improvements

The  rest of the desktop features have received more features and polish as  well. We have fixed up lots of issues with the UI Aligned Camera in  particular and improved the general interactions to provide smoother and  more intuitive experience.  The view visual will now activate in  UI Aligned Camera mode as well, but only in scenarios where the targeted  UI would be too far away or outside the field of view of the actual  avatar. This way it doesn’t need to pop up when you’re interacting with a  UI that’s just in front of you or perhaps focusing on a video player  when watching with your friends.  We have added permission  components as well that let you control which of the camera modes are  available in your world. For example for any game worlds, you can only  allow first person mode, to avoid people peeking behind corners or  watching other players.  Existing worlds are auto-initialized  based on their streamer camera permissions since those are usually a  close proxy - e.g. if you’ve configured the streamer camera to disallow  watching other players, freeform camera mode will be disabled for that  role by default as well.  Various LogiX nodes were added as well,  for checking which camera mode is user currently in, whether the view  visual is active or which hand is configured as their primary. You can  find all the additions, tweaks and bug fixes in our build release logs  either here on Steam or on our official Discord.  While there’s  still a lot that we want to do with the Desktop (check out our GitHub  roadmap!), we think that in its current state it should provide a pretty good experience for both new and existing users and we can put our  focus on other issues.

ProblablePrime and Chroma joining the team

This  week we have brought on two new members to the Neos Team to help out  with Neos’ development, both on the technical and content side. Everyone  welcome ProbablePrime and Chroma!  ProbablePrime has been a member of the Neos community since early 2019 and many of you probably know him for his numerous Neos tutorials,  covering everything from setting up avatars to using a variety of Neos’  tools, components and LogiX nodes. With his industry experience with  software development and documentation, he’s joining our team as a  Technical Writer and Programmer.  Thanks to the access to Neos’  source code he’ll be able to provide better tutorials and documentation  on Wiki and any other upcoming resources, providing you with more in  depth information on how things work and how you can best utilize them.  Apart from documentation, ProblablePrime will be making contributions to  the codebase as well, helping to implement features, fix bugs and  overall improve Neos’ technical side.  Chroma has been helping out with production of the upcoming Neos trailer with his industry VFX and video editing experience,  as well as with building out the MTC Streamer room for the past few  months. He will be helping with future video and graphics production in  the future both for promoting Neos and in-game graphics.  We’re excited to have the new team members on to help with this project and we hope everyone gives them a warm welcome!

How our moderation ticket system works

Since  there have been some rumors floating around in the community about the  internal workings of our moderation ticket system, particularly with  team members not being able to see certain issues or people assuming  they have gotten automated responses, we have decided to show you some  of the internals so everyone can have a better picture of what happens  when you make a ticket.  The ticket system can be accessed by any  moderator or Neos Team member. Each ticket can be assigned to a  particular member, but all of them can be seen by everyone in the system  at any time, so any member can chime in and see what’s going on.  This  is a pretty important part, because we have been building a diverse  moderation team with different backgrounds and experiences, so different  members can provide unique insights based on the issue at hand, whether  it’s a social issue or more technical one like exploit. Typically most  issues undergo an internal discussion from many members (both moderation  and Neos Team where relevant) and are decided on as a group, to prevent  biases from a single individual.  Our  moderation Discord is also heavily tied into the ticket system, with a  live feed of tickets as well as a unique channel for each issue which  allows us to discuss the ticket internally before making a formal  response. Those channels can also be seen by every moderator and Neos  Team member who opted in for access.  Each ticket is archived for future reference after it is closed.  Responses  to the tickets have been another source of concern recently, with  assumptions that they’re fully automated and not actually looked at. We  do not actually have an automatic response system and all the messages  have been sent by a person reading the ticket as indication that someone  has seen it.  Unfortunately crafting a detailed response takes  time, particularly with issues that require more detailed analysis (e.g.  exploit reports or issues that require gathering evidence), so we  typically send a canned response within a day to make sure that the  reporter knows that the issue has been received and is now part of the  system.  To better reflect this, we’ve updated the canned  responses wording to make it more clear that the response is being sent  by a moderator or team member, but without identifying who they are to  prevent cases of moderator harassment and targeting.

Anonymous Reports

Related  to the feedback above and some other concerns that we have received, we  have also added the ability to send anonymous reports through the  moderation system! For any issues where the user doesn’t wish to be  identified, but wants to share concerns with the community, platform or  even the team, those can be a good way to do them in a safe manner.  To make an anonymous ticket, simply go to a page here: https://moderation.neos.com/anon.php This doesn’t require filling out email as regular tickets do to avoid  personal identification. Of course this also means that you won’t be  able to receive a response, so those tickets will only be processed  internally.  Such tickets will also prevent us from getting more  detailed information on the issue as well directly and as such depending  on the ticket might not be actionable, but we hope that it nevertheless  provides a good option to share your concerns for certain situations.

Moving To Azure Pipelines

With  the growing Neos Team and community, there has been an increasing need  to make certain parts of the development process more efficient and  reduce the number of manual tasks that goes into making new builds.  As  part of this process we have started an ongoing effort to restructure  and move Neos’ codebase and its dependencies into Azure Pipelines and  switch over to CI/CD workflow. This means that Neos’ own code and code  of the dependency libraries will now have scripts in the cloud that will  be responsible for building the latest binaries every time changes are  pushed to the repository.  This is a pretty big task, as we have  numerous dependencies, both native and managed (.NET) and will take some  time to fully setup, but will provide much smoother development  experience, reduce manual labor and errors when pushing out updates or  updating the dependencies and enable us to build custom update system  and orchestration services (dedicated servers).  As the first benefit of this transition, we have recently updated the Assimp library used for 3D model import to the latest version from source for both  Windows and Linux and we’ll be able to keep up with its latest  developments much easier from now on thanks to significantly reduced  amount of manual steps that went into each update.

Updated Roadmaps

Since  we often get questions about which features are planned and what’s  coming for different aspects of Neos, as well as repeated feature  suggestions, we have started organizing some of the major plans into  GitHub roadmaps to keep things better organized in a single place,  rather than scattered among many issues, Discord discussions and weekly  updates.  On our official public GitHub Projects page,  you can now find several new projects for different parts of Neos, each  with some major planned tasks and features, which should give you a  good idea of what’s coming and what’s being currently worked on.  However  it’s important to note that the roadmaps aren’t necessarily  comprehensive - there are too many issues overall and the nature of the  project often changes during the development, but the roadmaps should  provide a good idea of the broad strokes.  For example even though  we’re now finished with the first phase of desktop implementation,  there are still many things we have planned for it. By going to the  Desktop project on GitHub, you can find out what those things generally  are.  We’ll keep updating the roadmaps as we go and anytime a  common issue comes up, we’ll try to put it on the roadmap, instead of  repeatedly answering it on Discord or inside of Neos. This way we’ll  have a good central resource for members of the team, mentors and  everyone else to refer to on the plans for the project.

What's Next

With  the first phase of the desktop complete and some last polish and  bugfixes in place, we'll be refocusing on some other major and minor  issues soon. Before that happens though, Frooxius will be taking a  roughly week long break, to help reset and refocus after a long time  stress from dealing with development and daily issues.  This  means that there will be no Neos updates for roughly a week and likely  no weekly update next week either. While we pride ourselves in a quick  development cycle with typically multiple updates each week, we think  this is important for a long term sustainability of the development and  handling new features and daily issues with a fresh mindset.  We're  very thankful for everyone's ongoing support of this project, because  without your help we couldn't be continually moving forward,  implementing new features, tweaks and bugfixes on regular basis!

Freeform Camera for Desktop, ProbablePrime and Chroma joining the team

Hello everyone and welcome to another weekly update!

We have  finalized the first phase of our desktop mode support with addition of  Freeform Camera mode! This lets you decouple the view fully from your  avatar and freely fly through the scene and use freeform cursor to  interact with items and gizmos.  The camera can also focus on  objects in the scene and orbit around them, making editing in desktop  significantly easier. Along with first person, third person, UI aligned  camera, new LogiX nodes and permissions for desktop, we think the  desktop is now well rounded for both socialization and building. There's  still much more we want to do with it, but we'll focus on other things  in the meanwhile.  Our team has grown by two new members as well!  Everyone welcome ProbablePrime and Chroma! ProbablePrime is joining as  technical writer and programmer. With access to source he'll be able to  provide you with even better tutorials and documentation on Neos, while  Chroma has been helping out with the upcoming Neos trailer and will be  helping with more media and graphics for Neos.  Based on some  concerns and misunderstanding in the community, we also unveil some  behind the scenes on the moderation system, to help everyone understand  how it works internally and what happens when you make a ticket. We have  also added ability to create Anonymous tickets too.

You can also  see latest progress on the MTC Streaming & Recording Hall from our  recent Friday livestream. We've also expanded our public roadmap to  provide more detailed overview of what's planned for different aspects  of Neos, so check them out if you're curious about what's in store!  MTC Streaming & Recording Hall Livestream Showcase

In  our last regular Friday 3PM PST livestream, we have showcased the  latest progress on the MTC Streaming & Recording Hall, another part  of our tutorial experience for new and existing players, focused on  everyone who wants to stream and record in Neos.  Similarly to the  MTC Avatar Room, we have designed this to not only serve as a tutorial  on the camera system in Neos and related ones, but also as a well  rounded hangout and utility world. You can find a stage with  configurable lighting for presentations, a green screen area with fully  configurable colors, backgrounds, tracking markers as well as a  streaming room with several different sets for streaming.

Hello @everyone and welcome to another of our weekly updates!

We have very exciting updates for you. This week we have released our Cloud Variable system, a new powerful tool for persistence independently of objects and worlds, allowing you to sync settings across worlds and avatars, build world with progression system, synchronize values between your private UI and the world in real time, sync data across sessions and instances of items and much more!

The system is designed for many different use cases and usage patterns, to learn more about how you can start using it, check out the details below.

The weekly Creator Jam has also reached the magical number 100! On our last Friday live stream, we have interviewed @Medra , @Vegasx and @Cataena to learn more about Creator Jam, their background and experiences, if you missed the interview definitely give it a watch!

https://youtu.be/sYuWYRnv6E8

In more great news, we have reached over 300 concurrent users a few days ago! Our community has been constantly growing for past two and half years and we're very excited every time we reach a new record number. While it's not as high as the absolute peak at the New Years, it's one that appeared organically almost out of nowhere.

We also showcase some amazing community creations and events, like a brand new MurderX game by the Japanese community, DJ event and talk about new mentor applications. Check out the details below!

We modeled a lot of ICO scenarios and chose the most positive one, with the most interest, yet still a quite likely one. (Not the most likely.) With the mindset that we can always speed mint pace up, but there is no way to slow it down. So far the pace is quite rapid. I certainly didn't imagine there will be more than 7.5 million NCR in existence already before Neos Store launch. I'd say burn is not likely at this moment or more likely than before. I was just mentioning that as a reaction to the post by @steinsg8 who it seems wasn't aware of that it is one of the tools we might use to deal with slower mint pace in the future if that happens.  In regards to the technical question about NCR burning, we have quite a lot of freedom in terms how to do it as our ERC-20 contract is a very vanilla one. It has to be in order to work well with Patreon (not a decentralized service). Ethereum to Patreon mint ratio is an unknown.
I think the cool and easily demonstrable way to burn the NCR would be to send them to the address 0x000000000000000000000000000000000000dead https://etherscan.io/address/0x000000000000000000000000000000000000dead or 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000
https://etherscan.io/address/0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000 no one clearly has the private keys for.
However for the slightest chance that we live in the one universe in billions where someone actually manages to find the private key (there are 2^256 combinations right now and networks will for sure move to more bits/different hash if/as computing capabilities increase orders of magnitudes and/or quantum computing becomes a factor) to one of these we might use a burner contract such as https://etherscan.io/address/0xb69fba56b2e67e7dda61c8aa057886a8d1468575

The best sustainable long term crowdfunding platform that matches Neos long term nature was and probably still is Kickstarter. We had to design an ICO that works well with a Kickstarter campaign. Not really something we saw before. It was clear from the get go that it will be very different from the usual ICO that is designed to raise the maximum amount of funds fast, but also fail fast. Exactly the opposite of our sustainable mindset and vision for Neos.
We wanted for the ICO to move along with Neos development steadily, awarding the few early supporters (you) disproportionally more than those coming later on as the earlier version of Neos you see and use, the harder it is to find support for it, the more of a visionary one has to be to see what Neos can become. Hence the ~500x increase you correctly noted @Zyzyl

Karel | CEO —
Investors kept explaining how bad of a project Neos is over and over. The sane thing at this point would be to let go and move on. However Neos was and still is the coolest thing we can imagine. There is not something better to move on to. The full vision that Neos might bring so much joy and utility to people all over the world, that we might one day see full dive, push the Laundauer Limit, be a better platform for a lot of the human activities that make humanity unsustainable, do something that really matters in the bigger picture, become the good parts of TCKR. It's our life's work and just too good to let go.  It was clear that Neos just doesn't fit the short term goal oriented funding and that if we want to continue, we have to find a way to fund Neos in a very different sustainable, long term way.  Neos Alfa on Steam attracted some initial users (thank you guys and gals    ) and we started thinking of making Neos work with crowdfunding. We wanted to give the project’s saviors - in part to prove so many investors explaining how bad of an investment Neos is wrong- something that would become valuable a we begin fulfilling the vision. We think limited virtual land in context of a metaverse is total baloney. (Not in context of a particular world - that might be a good way to raise funds for the world creator/operator.) What we knew though was that a  virtual economy in a p2p metaverse needs a currency and it's going to be worth quite a lot if enough people start using it. There are precedents.

Karel | CEO —
Please feel free to skip the TLDR part, but I'm including it to provide full context for why the Neos ICO is designed as it is.

------ TLDR ------

The Neos ICO process was designed with the presumption that Neos itself is a very daring long term project. Very different from the typical run of the mill startup where you raise quickly, have to whip something up as soon as possible, see whether it sticks or not and then move on to the next thing. That approach doesn't really work for Neos. In order for it to be sustainable , scalable, be its own engine, have the full long term potential to gradually become what is our ultimate vision for a metaverse, it just can't be based on some game engine data model with some asset store packages on top, quickly whipped up. It needs a very long term sustainable almost Japanese like thinking and funding approach. It was taking quite a lot of time to properly develop the core systems, have something that looks plausible to an investor.  At that point of time most of the companies in our VR focused business accelerator - now our friends and colleagues (we all shared a co-working space in San Francisco) - went already bankrupt and we were on the end of the line as well. Staring into the abyss. Elon Musk has this quote “Running a startup is like chewing glass and staring into the abyss. After a while, you stop staring, but the glass chewing never ends” and it's very true.

Hi everyone, the Content Developer Fund and its token CDFT was just announced over in #🌃neos-updates channel. You can read about it in the updated Neos White Paper at https://neosvr.com/whitepaper.pdf  It's a way of rewarding and supporting the extraordinary efforts and contributions of our amazing community. Slightly over 11 mil USD mint value if all goes well. We've tried to balance the fund to not impact valuation for other holders, but to still make it enough to make some difference for community developers.  Everyone will be able to apply, we'll share more info on how to do that in the weekly update.

I'm just going to go ahead and update the thread.

NEOS VR ICO (ongoing ico), is now at 0.147$/NCR
7.3M/50M total minted so far
-5.9 via ETH mint
-1.2 via Patreon mint
rough numbers, it doesnt add up its ok

Traded on Uniswap or send ETH to mint address directly (not contract address).  Ask questions in the discord, or here i'll answer.
info.uniswap.org/pair/0x06Bf054B9aAfC075f9BE814E1B7F948c6e845596

Each batch goes up in price +1.25 or 1.5%
every 25th batch goes to community dev fund, promoting work done on neos.  Now on batch 73/500.

Really cool stuff going on, Marketplace/NFTs/in game items, etc coming soon.  In game transfer of NCR is off chain so no fees.
IF you dont know what NEOS VR is, check it out on steam, it has great reviews.
Also check out cool stuff you can do:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-kG3f_bj1M

Full body tracking is awesome.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLEaf3YwJy8

Also face tracking is a thing.  And its also equally awesome.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7ChnfY6TVI

I'll post updates once in a while.  Also its amazing - you build your worlds IN VR (there is also a desktop mode), you build logix in VR, you can have your twitch stream in VR, etc.

Snowing here in April, merry christmas all.

I think its a good project.  You can get NCR with the minting directly or get it on uniswap but check the price.  Whatever happens I think this is fun and I also tend to think its the future that we can have in the now.  Im biased because I love VR and think its really awesome but  I don't expect the coin to "pump" like crazy unless some people get a really big slice of the minting every mint period and the minting price goes up 100x as it will in the future.  The money goes to the devs and they are quite legit so I mean that would be pretty cool.

true true I agree.  I think bitcointalk as a whole isnt very much active as it once was for new projects.  not that this one is new.  But if you check the updates for the game itself, it is quite active.  The NCR minting from what I understand is also done in relation to the patreon page here https://www.patreon.com/neosvr
So I see if you sign up Patreon and give 16$ a month, you'll get 60 NCR monthly which are minted I think.  Maybe they are mostly focused on the actual dev work.  Also they launched here in 2019, kinda a dead time for new projects on bitcointalk and didnt get much responses.  Given up on bitcointalk maybe.  A signature campaign wouldnt hurt

Just gonna post here and say go download it on steam !  Its really awesome, people are super friendly and helpful.  It'll take a bit of time to setup your avatar and learn everything but its well worth it.  This is it people.  Its happening.

Why they are not active here on the forum? If they are in active development, they should post their updates here so people will not get the impression that this project is already dead. After couple of years here in the forum, they are still in page 1. So people will think that this is not a very active project to look out for.

You guys need a marketing guy (the ann should be a bit more flashy) and keyboard access. Keyboard access is needed for mass appeal.

I like the game, a little clunky with the ui. The economic model is good but I would like to see more emphasis on how the coins can be spent.

Overall, cool underrated project.

Yes, our users primarily use virtual reality glasses as those are arguably a bit more technologically mature than augmented/mixed reality glasses (where you see both virtual and real objects).

I'm not aware that the leading augmented reality headsets like Hololens 2 and Magic Leap have GPS / geo anchoring systems to allow for such use. But Neos works on these and is ready once they do have this geo - binding capability.

We're getting ready to launch new website and UI

To be honest, the graphics are not impressive. What a triangular fox says something, some kind of pointer stick to the paws, on the outstretched fingers.
Haha that's a good point. People can freely customize their avatars and sometimes it can really be the fuel of nightmares.  Grin But that also makes it fun.
For serious/work use we recommend importing full body scans for now and will be introducing an in-verse avatar suite later on.
Neos graphics is going to get more beautiful over time, but it has to run on mobile VR consoles like Oculus Quest too, so a balance has to be struck at all times. 😊

Is it on virtual reality glasses? In principle, I propose to make a geo - binding. You walk down the street, and avatars walk past you. And the line between real life and virtual reality disappears.

The First Metaverse Build From Within

Steam   •   Neos.com   •   White Paper

Uniswap   •   Discord   •   YouTube   •   Reddit   •   Twitter   •   Patreon

What is Neos?

Neos is a virtual reality metaverse that reinvents and generalizes the way social experiences and various virtual creations are built, to let them all coexist in one shared space. The innovative underlying architecture, based on simple, yet powerful building blocks in an expandable future-proof way, is designed to dynamically synchronize complex worlds and behaviors built directly from within Neos.
With a rapidly growing community, the potential for a rich Neos in-verse economy embodied in the upcoming Neos Store marketplace emerges as a way for content creators and service providers to make a living in Neos, and help it to grow into a vibrant, desirable place and strong decentralized economy.

Neos Credits [NCR]

Token sale: open at https://neos.com/

Neos Credits [NCR] will facilitate Neos in-verse economy including Neos Store and Neos Jobs marketplaces. With the upcoming launch of Licence Information Component, NCR will enable trustless in-verse trading.
The minting process is designed to initially distribute Neos Credits to supporters and early adopters so that they can take part in the in-verse economy and benefit from the eventual success of Neos. Rewarding those who help to develop advanced iterations of the Neos metaverse is our top priority.

Contract: 0xdb5c3c46e28b53a39c255aa39a411dd64e5fed9c
Not an sale address, will be provided as token sale starts

What's next?

Before token sale starts, we'll introduce in-verse NCR transactions and trading in an update.
You can join community testing of managed wallets and transactions with fun little KFC test token that is in progress right now.
It's not sure when all 50 million NCR will be minted, but the sooner you get on board, the better your minting batch NCR-ETH ratio. We'll keep updating this post and our communication in general in the long term as we continue to make Neos and it's NCR token sale more attractive over time.

Update

Thanks to everyone who helped testing with KFC. We have not found any major issues.
NCR in-verse transactions now enabled, all set for launch of blockchain services and minting this Friday. Images of in-verse NCR UI below.

Update 2

Minting starts in less than 4 hours. Countdown, details and eventually minting address available at https://neos.com/

Update 3

Minting underway. we're on batch 82/500 and counting, see stats at https://neos.com/. Thanks to everyone taking part!
