I'm shutting it down - not enough interest in neither P2Pool nor KarmaCoin.

Thanks for making this available, very cool. To help the network I have 3 public nodes running:

EU (AMS):
http://eu.poolx.org:9421/

US-East (NYC):
http://us-east.poolx.org:9421/

US-West (SFO):
http://us-west.poolx.org:9421/

They are all 0% fee for Karmacoin (KARM). Full disclosure: those servers are also hosting p2pool nodes for Leafcoin (LEAF), Kittehcoin (MEOW), and Mooncoin (MOON) and those instances have a 1% fee currently. I may change that in the future, but plan to keep Karmacoin (KARM) at 0% fee permanently.

Remember, you can always verify the fee that a p2pool node is collecting by looking at the /fee url. So for example, http://eu.poolx.org:9421/fee reports 0.0 indicating no fee is collected.

Also, be sure to upgrade your wallet to v0.8.6.2.4 ASAP--this is a mandatory upgrade that must be done before 10AM EST Monday February 24 which is tomorrow. See https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annkarm-karmacoin-new-initiatives-helping-people-do-good-447657 for details.

I mined on this pool some yesterday on a few of the US servers and I'm still being included on block payments.  You may want to check on it.  My address is KMmTZabxaJArRP4VsuW3sZrRstJUFgFNE6.

Hey,

Thanks for briefly joining the pool.

That's not a mistake, but how PPLNS and thus P2Pool works.

On a normal PPS (pay per share) pool, you generate shares while you are mining the current block. When the block is found you get a % based on the number of shares you have contributed to that block. Your shares are reset and you start earning more on the next block.

With PPLNS (pay per last number of shares) you're earning shares like in PPS but those shares are weighted/averaged over a time period (24 hours in this case) to prevent pool hoppers from coming in, dominating a block and leaving.

I can go into more details if you like (or you can google for more info too) but to make a long story short- when you first join a PPLNS pool, your average starts at 0 and payouts are low and slow, but it'll increase as you continue to mine. When you've been there for the full period, it'll be the same as it would on a normal PPS pool. When you leave, whether for a short time or permanently, your average will decrease until it reaches 0 again. During that time, inversely to when you first joined, the payouts will decrease as new blocks are found until your shares expire.

Aside from the time it takes to find new blocks, you will see your last payout approximately 24 hours after you earned your last share; or rather when the last block is found within that 24 hours.

21-2-2014 20:00 UTC: I assigned static IPs to the instances and the DNS records for the hostnames are updating. Should be accessible again in 1-48 hours. Sorry for the inconvenience.

21-2-2014 21:20 UTC: I've added two more regions, assigned all static IPs and updated DNS hostnames. The source has been updated to use the+new DNS hostnames. Everyone should be connecting to their nearest regional server via hostname, not IP. If you were running your own p2pool node, please download the latest source to get the new Bootstrap addresses. Sorry for the inconvenience, this was all in response to the popularity and in preparation for longer-term support.

22-2-2014 20:20 UTC: I have set all my p2pool nodes to 0% fees to help promote adoption of the P2Pool network.
