So, you managed to revive the dead coin. Great. But what's next? Where is it going?

Another Schrödinger's coin?

Good news! After the successful fork, the wallets at Tradeogre have become operational again.

The fork was a suscess. Ombre is now on V1.5.0 and the network is working as it should. The emissions updated about a week before the release and the current mining reward is ~66 omb.

Because of the change in source code there are steps to follow to open the old wallets with the new source. This was figured out by a community member Bojauran...

 How to restore and old ombre wallet from mnemonic seed:

==========================================

 ./ombre-wallet-cli --restore-deterministic-wallet
then enter a wallet file name
then enter your mnemonic seed
then enter a password
then when the wallet opens just do "refresh 100000"

=============================================

Building the new source on windows so far is not working. A fix is currently being worked on and an update will be pushed as soon as it is completed.

Introduction

OMBRE (shade in French) is a cryptonote currency and an indirect fork of the well-known Monero currency. Inherited from Monero are strong security, privacy and untraceability features that form a solid basis for further development.
Our mission is to enhance the cryptonote protocol to provide a lightweight, secure, well maintained and [b/actively developed[/b] (no-nonsense) coin.

Some main differences compared to other cryptonote coins are:

We use a 60 second block window which reduce transaction times
We enforce a minimum transaction mixin of 10 to fight blockchain analysis which could compromise privacy
We actively cooperate with other cryptonote coins and do not treat them as competition.

As a cryptonote coin we inherited the fungibility of the protocol.  Features like RingCT make you transaction anonymous and untraceable.

Among other technologies, we use Ring Confidential Transactions (RingCT) that allows you to send OMB (OMBRE) without fearing that someone can trace your transaction.

*We are currently rebasing to follow alongside Ryo but keeping the algorithm as Cryptyonight_Heavy. This rebase will repair the wallets and bring Ombre up to date.*
*We plan on keeping the same supply and emmisions that were laid out from the previous releases. This is not just another fork. Neils (SadBatMan) the previous dev/creator of Ombre has had health issues and has stepped back, giving Ombre to the community making Ombre community drivin, community maintained, and community owned. A true decentralized currency.*

Supply & Emission

Total supply: 500.000.000 (500 Million) coins to be mined in the first 20 years.
Coin symbol: OMB

Block Time: 60 seconds - for faster transactions
Block Reward:~55 OMB (as of Sept 2019 ~66 OMB)
No premine - Just development funding
