My blockchain download gets stalled.. it says 5 weeks behind. I', running the testnet app version: 2.1_test

I think it has something to do with testnet3.

Yes, testnet2 has become quite rough during the last months, AFAIK mainly due to the mining rules change. How is the prodnet version doing on your phone?

testnet3 is not (yet) supported by Bitcoin Wallet, and I'm thinking about what a good transition would be. Certainly I do not want to maintain three flavors of the same app.

I just downloaded and installed the prodnet version and it crashed at startup =) Two reports sent. But now it's currently downloading the blockchain and I'm gonna test more tomorrow.

Btw, I translated the app to swedish at transifex to 100%. so I hope we get it in the next version.

One thing I noticed is that on the main window when I scroll from Both to ether received or sent the background gets gray if it don't have any transactions. I got that bug running Android 2.3.7, rom CM7.2 on my phone.... I don't have that on android 4.0.3 on my tablet.

Will there be any simple way for the user to export or backup private keys??

I'm all for making this as simple (and secure) as possible.

we can't wait.

Some background info: Due to bugs in earlier versions, some wallets contained inconsistent transactions. I decided to simply rebuild these wallets from scratch (using the existing private keys of course).

if your bitcoins are not showing up after update, do not worry (yet). wait until the blockchain is back up to date the coins will then show up. i had this problem, too.

Yep, you're right Smiley Seems it had to download the entire blockchain again, took a bit of time Smiley

When can we expect a wallet 'export' or 'backup' function?
With the update my old wallet got screwed up and i lost some BTC in the process Sad

Wonderful that it now has the "Disconnect" option. Thanks for the good work!

one day can you password it?

As soon as encrypted private keys are supported by BitCoinJ, Bitcoin Wallet will support it as well.

I'm proud to announce that version 2.1 of Bitcoin Wallet for Android is released.

New features:

- advances on the Holo UI, uses ActionBar and ActionModes
- changes how the P2P network stays connected (disconnect in the overflow menu actions!)
- supports sending and receiving of address labels via QR code or NFC
- is based on the freshly released BitCoinJ 0.5

You can either
update via Google Play
or
download from Google Code
