Would anyone want to see another Litecoin Faucet open up? I have a tentative idea for a faucet, although it's far from complete. It'd work funded by an embedded webminer, advertisements, and any donations people feel like sending, plus some fraction of what I mine. Anyone interested?

Faucet is back up now and I've donated an additional 250 LTC to cover the losses

I searched for this domain on this board and came up with the following user

Kvist1987 registered on November 23, 2011, 08:28:22 AM. This is 5 days after the domain was registered.

He made the following two posts referencing the domain name, it looks like he was trying to setup a pool.

So it looks like we had our first "hack" at the litecoin faucet yesterday and 237 LTC were sent to LTxVDZNaJ1Mcw1DzzXCgZr5uY4n6pJYxAG and 1 LTC to LS5KiVQEx4q7zqUu7oyGM33HwoQMjK1geL. The google accounts used were all @diskokvist.dk and it looks like it was scripted.

I'm going to take the faucet offline for a couple of hours to make some code changes to prevent this kind of attack from happening in the future. It just involves being a little more strict on the criteria I use to determine if litecoins have already been sent to a user.

I still have to look through the logs to see if there was any other suspicious activity. If anyone is interested, I can put the relevant logs up on pastebin.

With a picture of a water faucet. LOL yeah good one!

Any resemblance to the Bitcoin Faucet is purely coincidental.  Errrr... Uummm...

Noticed the LTC Pool is already at 44, awesome.

Yeah, I've been dumping the litecoins I'm mining directly into the pool to get it stocked up.

Thanks for cleaning the text up and adding the graphic.

Looks and works great. I will be adding my monthly contribution today.

0.005 LTC? No offence, but that's 0.0007 US cents. You should bump it up to 1 LTC per person.

yeah, it sucks but the pool isn't exactly stocked up right now. I'm going to be popping more ltc into it soon and will make the payout proportional to whats in the pool

edit: upped it to .5 now

Think that's about as high we want to go, enough for folks to get the Litecoin client up and running and testing with a working faucet.

I have posted my comments regarding your awesome work on this on the LTC Dev Club Thread.

Thanks!

Check it out @ http://freelitecoins.appspot.com

I'm giving out 2 LTC through the faucet. You will require a google account in order to access the service. No information is gathered beyond what is neccessary to ensure the faucet isn't exploited and the information will not be used for any other purpose.

I'm open to suggestions for improvements, so feel free to to toss them out there Smiley
