Just curious, what would be the purpose of this?

If you're not sure why this might be useful, consider these possibilities:

Find out what bitcoin sites may be on the horizon.
Get ideas about upcoming bitcoin sites.
Keep an eye on potential competitors.

Or, you might just purely find it interesting, like I do.

I find it very interesting to see what bitcoin domains are being registered on a daily basis. It says a lot about the state of the bitcoin community and of the entrepreneurs that are getting involved.

Well, I've finished indexing all of August.

Dates now available for browsing: Jul 30, 2011 through to Sep 1, 2011

Also added a whois link next to each domain.

Hi everyone,

I made a site which shows all the bitcoin related domain names that were registered on a certain date.

http://bitcointree.com

So far I've only indexed Aug 12, 2011 through to Sep 1, 2011 but I am gradually indexing more dates as we speak.

If you're not sure why this might be useful, consider these possibilities:

Find out what bitcoin sites may be on the horizon.
Get ideas about upcoming bitcoin sites.
Keep an eye on potential competitors.

Or, you might just purely find it interesting, like I do.

The site finds all domain names that:

contain 'bitcoin'
contain 'btc'
start with 'bit' but not 'bitcoin'
contain 'coin' but not 'bitcoin'

Check out Aug 26 for example, you can see someone was really interested in solidcoin. http://bitcointree.com/?date=20110826

Anyway have fun with it. I will continue to index more dates as fast as I can, and I hope to be able to post this on the main forum soon (or maybe an established forum member can link to this post for me, if they think my site is good).

Thank you for your time.
