Update: I am now giving one or two advertisement slots out for free to support any other Litecoin project, leave suggestions and if the project doesn't have their own banner/advertisement, I'll make the banner no problem. Smiley

You chould maybe make advertisement about the channel #LTC-Projects ? - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ltc-ltc-projects-85346
so we could get more on it Smiley

Update: got new motherboard replacement, service should be back to normal. As a "sorry", 3 LTC sent to each legitimate address submitted during the round affected by the coincidence of mobo out + instawallet out.

Payouts resuming as normal, got 5970--more mining power Smiley

Tune in to Neocash Radio

We have made a block worth an extra 2.5 LTC from trans. fees apparently: http://abe.liteco.in/chain/Litecoin/b/138978 Smiley Still don't understand where some of those numbers are coming from though, seems a bit odd lol

You should use the sendmany command or the add recipient button.  I imagine that you are spending freshly spent coins, and that might be the reason for the fees.

:sigh: Well, got my 5970 in the mail today and was all excited. Put it into my system, and powered on... the computer after a few seconds powered off, with the CPU_LED light remaining on. Switching back to the old GPU apparently did no good :/. Reason I mention this here is that this may delay and payouts from the litecoinfaucet.com faucet for a while until I get this fixed, bear with me Sad...

Update: we are now at:
litecoinfaucet.com

If you go to the old website kmpapplications.com, it will redirect you. After a month or so I will remove this redirect and maybe use kmpapplications.com for something else. No ideas yet...

Anyhow, let me know if you can't access (Propagation still has another... 24 hrs or so?) the website or if something isn't working. Thanks!
As well, we've gone through 7 rounds now, everything seems to be going very smoothly, had some suspicious activity but dealt with it accordingly (only sending LTC to one address if they submitted more than one address and only sending one LTC to one Address when they came from a lot of very similar IP's very close together (200.200.200.201, 200.200.200.202, etc.) (that wasn't an actual IP I had trouble with, just an example...).

Anyhow, I do plan to implement some sort of Captcha soon as suggested by someone else (thanks!), and may look into more methods of controlling abuse, any other ideas? Don't really want to post exactly what he put as it might give potential abusers some ideas...

And I am considering moving over to mining bitcoins then exchanging them into LTC, as that would (in theory) bring up the BTC/LTC ratio, correct? Or would it be insignificant enough? I'm going to, fairly soon, be running around... let's see a 560 Ti plus a 5970 plus a BitForce Single... so 1.5 GH/s? I might keep the 560 Ti and i5-2500k mining litecoin, then exchange BTC as necessary for remaining LTC input. Am I going crazy or would this work?

Oh, and I figured out how to solo-mine (I think) LTC, might also give that a hand, if anyone wants I can throw together a guide for that if there is any interest. Maybe a video tutorial or something. Smiley

Again, thanks for the support, I hope this somehow adds something small to the Litecoin project Smiley

Sounds great Smiley
I was planning on creating a faucet for Litecoin for a while, but I'm glad someone finally put the effort in and made one.

pooler: certainly plan to move it to a dedicated FAQ page on the website itself, probably tonight Smiley.

Edit: moved to http://kmpapplications.com/FAQ.html Smiley

Wow, I am impressed by the comprehensiveness of this FAQ. Very good job!
Maybe you should move it to a dedicated page on the site itself, though, so as not to scare forum readers. Wink

Hello Smiley I was poking around the interwebs yesterday and today, and in doing so came to the conclusion that I couldn't find any operating Litecoin faucets. So I made my own. I think a faucet for digital currency is important/useful as, while not giving large sums to anyone anytime quick, it enables people to try out a currency or get familiar with it. For example, another member on the forum did a cool project with giving elementary students of a class a wallet with (I think) 1 BTC in it. This type of faucet would be perfect for something like this. Use cases:
1.) A few LTC a day for people who don't want to mine / don't know how
2.) Gives people some LTC to experiment with and practice with (instead of risking BTC) (mainly applies to kids...)
3.) An addition to what a person mines daily (the time it takes you to fill in your address is likely faster than it takes your miner to earn 1 LTC for you)
4.) Can get friends into a digital currency without dishing out any money
Probably more possible, that's all I can think of right now.

I had an old domain lying around from when I was going to start some sort of software dev business, and so, for now, I am going to be using this domain for the faucet, but I may switch to another domain depending on various circumstances. Anyhow, here is a picture of the faucet:

It's called Litecoin Dropper, adopting the Ł to be the Litecoin symbol, we'll see how that goes. Basically you get 1 LTC per round (amount subject to change based on supply/demand) per IP. At the end of the round, all of the IP's have the first address they submitted sent one LTC, and a new round starts. There may be some addresses which don't receive LTC, such as if there are 30 IP addresses that are like 79.112.147.x where it's pretty obvious someone is using something like a mobile phone to submit multiple Litecoin Addresses from an IP address they can easily change. This will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

The dropper/faucet works by rounds, which range from usually, under normal circumstances, 8-12 hours per round. Each round each IP is allowed one LTC address. The system won't stop you from entering another, but you will only get payout on the first address submitted that round. You will know we are one a new round as the round number will increase.

The pool is funded by 1.) a certain percentage of my mining output, 2.) donations (donation address on site), 3.) Litecoin miner embedded in website, and 4.) possibly the Ad money?

If you would like to read an FAQ, please go to http://litecoinfaucet.com/FAQ.html Smiley.

Anyways, please leave (negative or positive) feedback.

As well, I know the design isn't very polished/attractive, but heh, 1.) I'll probably do some work on it in about a week (once finals are over) but it's functional and gets the job done Smiley. Happy mining/pooling/dropping!

Oh, and Moderators, if this belongs in another category like project development or something, sorry, didn't know quite where to post this... please move it if it is wrong Smiley.

I have noticed some very similar IP's requesting litecoins very close to each other (like 109.163.233.(200/201/205)), so I have automatically only paid out one LTC to the first address given by any of these similar IP's. Otherwise, everything's going smooth and such Cheesy. I'm gonna start a bit of a progress counter here to keep up on the system's progress.

Progress:
LTC SENT:
1 [Smiley]
10 [Smiley]
25 [Smiley]
50 [Smiley]
100 [Smiley]
200 [Smiley]
500 [Smiley]
750 [Smiley]
1000 [Smiley]
1500 [Smiley]
2500 []
5000 []

EDIT: Now have transferred everything over to new Domain, lemme know about strange bugs that shouldn't happen!
EDIT AGAIN: Mobo in main computer with wallet died, traded some BTC to LTC to hold us over, ordered a new cheap mobo (~60 USD...) to fill in while other mobo is out for RMA... Now doing payouts again though Smiley
