We actually haven't named our reward algo - definitely liking that suggestion as a contender though!
You should name it if you truly made something innovative, unique for crypto.
Nevertheless, I seriously wonder about the core ideas of the algo and its future success.

Yes, naming the algo is a good idea. Appreciate the feedback!

Predictev is an interesting startup building an influence social network on odds betting predictions. There is something about comingling one's thoughts with your friends on which sports teams, stocks or events in an online social setting to win or lose a bet. If you win your prediction, Predictev offers rewards in PEV tokens. Imagine posting a prediction on the March Madness brackets for your favorite team with others on the Predictev network. The value over other predictive systems is it's not gamified on getting referrals, but rather earning on winning a "social-bet" prediction. The game changer for Predictev over other apps is the mobile in-depth pre-game analysis in live video and blogging on Discord with others on the channel as the event or game plays in real time. Place your bets.

THE SOCIAL PREDICTION NETWORK
Predict. Vote. Earn PEV.

We present Predictev, a decentralized media platform for sharing predictions and analysis, with native cryptocurrency rewards for accuracy and crowd approval, but without loss of capital for inaccuracy.

In contrast to traditional prediction markets which require access to capital, Predictev provides all users with unlimited chances to test themselves against real market data, earn PEV tokens, and prove their expertise. By combining powerful components of social networks, prediction markets, and blockchain technology, Predictev incentivizes users to share their predictions and helps identify the smartest experts on the internet.

Users earn PEV tokens for creating predictions and upvoting predictions that prove correct

In contrast to rewards-based blockchain social media platforms such as Steem and Scorum, Predictev attempts to level the playing field by rewarding objective accuracy in addition to popularity when predicting the future. Furthermore, Predictev rewards individual excellence with the introduction of jackpot rewards for consecutive correct predictions. Lastly, users’ blockchain-backed prediction records provide irrefutable proof of expertise, establishing a reputation layer for who to trust on the internet.

Predictev is built on instantaneous, high-throughput, fee-free blockchain technology in order to support making predictions in real-time during sporting, investing, and political events. A testnet version of the Predictev blockchain protocol is currently operating and supports sports predictions. Support for eSports, stocks, currency trading, and political predictions is planned for the future.

Predictev was developed at Berkeley Skydeck and UCLA’s Anderson Venture Accelerator.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

On Predictev, users share their insights in the form of a “prediction post,” the foundation of which is a user’s objectively-verifiable prediction, such as “the Patriots will beat the Rams in the Super Bowl.” Users are incentivized, but not required, to include analysis supporting why their prediction will come true. Depending on the front end interface used to interact with the Predictev blockchain, this analysis may take the form of text, video, images, or audio.

As in Steem, authors and curators earn rewards based on community support in the form of user upvotes. However, to incentivize accuracy, authors and curators of posts containing correct predictions also earn multiplier rewards, the value of which is calculated based on the expected likelihood of the predicted event occurring. An event's "expected likelihood" can be determined based on data from, for example, a prediction market, sportsbook, or stock options market.

Predictev’s native cryptocurrency is named ‘PEV’. PEV tokens serve as a unit of influence. The more PEV tokens one holds, the greater the influence they have on the network when upvoting posts. This is the primary utility of PEV at launch. PEV may have additional utilities in the future, as detailed in the Predictev whitepaper.

Predictev’s testnet currently supports a fully functioning consumer-grade social network. Users can post predictions on sporting events, upvote their favorite analysis, and win testnet PEV token jackpots when they achieve winning streaks of five in a row.

Predictev originally launched with a focus on in-depth pre-game analysis in a blogging format. Coming soon, users will be able to make live, in-game predictions on our website (https://demo.predictev.com) and via a chatbot on their favorite chat platforms, such as Discord. Upon creating a Predictev account and linking it to their Discord account, users will be able to commit transactions to the Predictev blockchain without leaving the confines of their favored chat platform. Our team is also hard at work creating an exciting new live-streaming platform that enables fan broadcasters to make predictions alongside their audience while watching games.

By removing the traditional barriers to entry associated with investing and betting, Predictev enables anyone offering potential insight to benefit. And thanks to its gamified reward structure, which incorporates gambling-like elements, Predictev offers a stickier and more compelling experience than traditional sports and investment media.

Start predicting today at https://demo.predictev.com and help us build the smarter internet! We’d love your feedback, so please reach out to us at [email protected] if you’d like to chat.
