KOSMOS’s aim is to protect user privacy and help web site or App build the decentralized data collection platform that fully accord with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). Users access log data is anonymously uploaded to decentralized storage system based on the web or APP SDK. Users are identified by block chain wallet uniquely. The use privacy will be fully protected. If web site/app owner and their users consent, these anonymous data could also be shared. People who request data could purchase data usage rights. In order to reflect the value of user data and build an efficient supply and demand relationship between data exporters and data consumers, Kosmos constructs the base platform using block chain technology and uses KMS as the data commodity value to transfer settlement tokens. This platform aims to be decentralized, international, flexible in transaction, transparent in price, and well protected to deliver the value of user data.
Kosmos user data token, or KMS for short, is designed to measure “the value of user data” accurately. KMS is used in trading anonymous user data on the Kosmos platform. The total circulation of KMS is 21 million, and will never be additional issued. This platform could be used to motivate contributors who provide user data. Customers who have a need for user data can also use KMS to purchase data usage rights. KMS hopes to build a standard value expression system based on the quantity demanded of user data and scientific analysis model. Also, KMS as a settlement token calibrates the current and future business value of user data. The user data demanders can easily retrieve the user data resources through KMS platform, locate them and purchase data usage rights.
Developer CommunityAny developer of Github can upload the code,design or update the Chrome/APP plugin or special web browser to realize the function of kosmos and collect data. But the output and the basic logic of data replacement cannot be changed.
Web site /APP owner Person who own the web site or APP. They are the main consumers of kosmos. They could use the SDK developed by kosmos community to collect user logs data.
Data ContributorsThe KOSMOS platform produce a block with collecting 1GB data for each data contributor.
1 The person with the highest contribution value is more likely to get the block product. Contribution value is decided by data contribution*holding KMS*reputation. Considering the need for anti-cheating and fairness,we need normalize the data contribution. For example, if a user contributes N data, the data contribution is log2(N). If N is bigger than 1024, the contribution can be counted as 10. Calculation formula of reputation value is defined by rule 5. The contribution mechanism will be gradually improved in the community consensus.
2 The tokens of a block are assigned as follows: 90% is assigned to block producer, who is selected based on rules 1. The other 10% is assigned to a subsidy pool. This part is shared by other contributors of this block. Assignment rule will be defined by community.
3 To maintain the community reputation mechanism and avoid the spam, In the first n blocks, contributors will receive a block reward without restrictions. After that, each KOSMOS account needs to follow this mechanism: the contributor need hold at least 1 KMS in order to get 100% block income. Otherwise, they can only get n%,the rest is included in the subsidy pool.(Initially, n=24,x=10, after that, these values will be improved by kosmos community. All users holding KMS could decide this rule)
4 The number of tokens contained in a block is dynamically changed. Initially, every block contains 50 coins and is adjusted every 2 weeks. Subsequently, the number of coins in each block = the average number of users per hour in the past 2 weeks/ the number of blocks that have been dug up.
5 The reputation is decided by history data and user community score. The initial value is set to 1. The reputation mechanism will be gradually improved in the community consensus.
KOSMOS Data Platform A platform stores the user log data provided by data contributors.
Kosmos proxyNormally, the SDK like web JS can’t directly upload data to decentralized storage platform. So the proxy is set to connect the SDK and decentralized storage platform. Anyone cloud be the proxy. The web site/APP owner could also select proxy by themselves.
KOSMOS data purchaserThe user could only buy the data usage rights. The data ALWAYS belong to data contributors. KOSMOS data purchaser rules:
1 The official only considers the selling mechanism of primary data
2 After each block is generated, vickery auction rule (the second-price sealed-bid Auction) is used for bidding. The base price is the number of tokens included in the block. The auction deadline is the time when the sixth block is generated.
The user who takes a block gets all the subsequent revenue generated by the block.
If fail to sell,the system will automatically obtains all the subsequent income generated by the block.
3 The data revenue mechanism is designed by a third party, such as the third party DMP. KOSMOS will provide a complete support mechanism and confirmation mechanism to ensure the convenience of third-party development and rights of data owners. This mechanism is only used for supporting ecological development. It does not endorse any third-party development.
4 The proceeds go into the KOSMOS subsidy pool and shared by data contributors eventually. However, the block data gets the users’ subsequent revenue. It won’t be shared.
