I updated the Melange SPICE daemon to have networkhash per second:
spiced getmininginfo
{
"blocks" : 39735,
"currentblocksize" : 1000,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"difficulty" : 38.07908630,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : false,
"genproclimit" : -1,
"hashespersec" : 0,
"networkhashps" : 898891512,
"pooledtx" : 0,
"testnet" : false
}
The original daemon didn't have "networkhashps", maybe because it was forked from an older version ot bitcoin source. the patch is exactly the same as the one I made for Xedoscoin (
https://github.com/xedoscoin/xedoscoin/pull/2). I didn't make a pull request for spice now, so if anyone wants this feature locally, just patch it.
Networkhashrate of the coins as of now is as follows:
Skein algo:
XDC: 0.21 GHs, diff 4, algo skein
SKC: 3.77 GHs, diff 101, algo skein
SPICE: 0.89 GHs, diff 35, algo skein
NGC: 1.6 MHs, diff 0.03, algo skein
This weekend is a good time to mine NGC and XDC -- both have low difficulty and low network hashrate. XDC retargets fast, each one and a half minute, that is why the diff falls that much during weekends. The same is with NGC, just a bit slower -- 2 minutes. Weekends are good for mining fast coins with a bit more exotic algos, because with the low diff you will easier get more coins before the diff rises again in the begining of the working week.
Spice had a burst in diff and hashrate recently, maybe spice.plasr.com and the users on it had an impact on that. Now it is at diff 35 which is higher, because the coin hasn't retargeted yet. At 4 minutes retargeting and almost a gigahash of power is may not go down too much.
SKC is going up and is keeping the hashrate and the diff. But also it is the oldest and most developed of these coins, is has more services and maybe it would be more profitable if you decide to sell what you've mined.
So all 4 skein coins are profitable to mine during these weekends.
X11 algo anf Scrypt algo:
Darkcoin and Dogecoin are well known coins and the power and difficulty there is high enough. If you decide to invest in mining them, you may want to keep an hold them, especially the Darkcoin, which is rising steadily recently.
Of course, it is better to hold all of these coins, because they are not going down. Spice and NGC these days have devs a bit harder to reach -- the Spice thread is locked and the NGC one is not updated several days. On the other hand, Spice is easy to mine and is on exchanges and as for the NGC -- the dev there has lots of ideas for local promotion and online-to-offline services, so it may be worth keeping an eye on that.
Long story short, these are not some random coins we got here for you.
