Key Updates from the Inaugural PRVD OASIS PGB Meeting

- The inaugural PRVD OASIS PGB Meeting took place on September 8, 2022 with members from Provide, Synadia, Chainlink, BankUnited and OASIS in attendance, marking an important milestone in the project’s governance. PRVD is an officially chartered and launched OASIS Open Project!

Several key topics were discussed:

  • Election of Chairs: Kyle Thomas was elected PGB Chair and Seena Foroutan of Chainlink will serve as Co-Chair of the PRVD OASIS open project.‍
  • Indoctrination of proUBC: proUBC, an open-source ABAP implementation of the Baseline middleware pattern for SAP, written specifically for use with the PRVD stack, was officially added to the scope of the PRVD OASIS project charter. This sets the stage for widespread enterprise adoption and community development– including a number of exciting grant opportunities– under the guidance of PRVD OASIS.‍
  • Baseline Contributions and Repository Transitions: Kyle highlighted the various projects contributed to the PRVD OASIS open project charter by Provide and demonstrated how each of those projects tie into the BRI-1 reference implementation of the Baseline Protocol. Since the PRVD stack was used to inform the Baseline Standard specification, the two projects will be complimentary. The BRI-1 implementation is being upgraded for submission as a complete test harness for the standard. Provide will transfer ownership of all public repositories contributed to the PRVD OASIS project in advance of the next PGB meeting.
    ‍
  • Plans for the setup of the PRVD OASIS Technical Steering Committee: Kyle and Seena will be working together to establish the Technical Steering Committee prior to the next PGB meeting. TSC meetings will likely be held twice each month; the initial TSC meeting will likely take place in mid-October. The TSC will be responsible for creating, reviewing and approving proposed grants...

They (Provide-Team) also have been teasing various news (and hopefully they include the whitepaper and the shuttle launch) up until the 4th of July.

Hello everybody

Apart from the last post by the team in here, I quickly wanted to go revisit the hopes I expressed to tell everybody reading this that shuttle indeed launched and the whitepaper (although only version 0.99) also was published.
Personally, I'd have liked it if the paper had a bit more meat on the bone (especially the PVRG section), but I'm glad the team seems to be hitting more and more deadlines, while also publishing great news.
The next thing to look out for is the open source SAP-connector (proUBC).

From my point of view, this is getting more and more promising.

Cheers,
Gift.

Looks like things have finally started happening. BankUnited was also added to the sponsor list in the PRVD-Oasis github.
They (Provide-Team) also have been teasing various news (and hopefully they include the whitepaper and the shuttle launch) up until the 4th of July.

While I have started to become a bit skeptical over the last month these new information seems to point in the direction of everything actually being legit.
If the whitepaper also addresses the PVRG (another token and important thing not mentioned in here) distribution after the burn, then all my doubts will have vanished and I can't wait to see what they got in store.

I'm pretty sure this one is a project to watch in the near- AND long-term future (but as always keep a level-headed approach).

Provide Featured in EEA Ethereum Business Readiness Report

Read the BankUnited/ServiceNow case study featuring Provide and Shuttle in the EEA's Ethereum Business Readiness Report 2022.

Provide Featured in EEA Ethereum Business Readiness Report
The EEA report represents one of the first attempts to systematically assess the capabilities and potential of Ethereum as a business platform. Through case studies, interviews, and original Ethereum ecosystem research, the report sheds light on the use of Ethereum and Web3 technologies to solve real-world business problems. In the report, the EEA also proposes a framework for businesses to use to understand and assess their options when building on Ethereum.

Download the EEA's full report, which includes the Provide case study on page 56 here. If you prefer, you can download just the case study featuring BankUnited, ServiceNow and our much-anticipated Shuttle product here.

I start the post with imo = in my opinion. So it is exactly that, and I make that very clear that these are my thoughts around the governance token.

People can form their own opinions. I just shared mine.
I am not investing in PRVD and I have explained my thought processes and reasoning. People should DYOR.

(And this is not a competitor to UBT, as UBT is a gas token, not a governance token)

While some points just made by Dan certainly are true (e.g. there is a lawsuit) other points seem a bit skewed towards being a personal opinion. The distribution for example has not even really happened  (as he pointed out there was no point in time to buy) as the network has not launched yet.
It is important to note that Dan, who probably is the same Dan who has been an Unibright insider since forever and is moderating various Unibright chats, might not be completely unbiased when it comes to the launch of a potential competitor.

I will share my own personal thoughts on why I am avoiding this project:

Imo, this token has many problems before it has even properly started. The project smart contract code says 1st of Jan launch, and they were accepting funds and stating that everything launches from that date. Despite the date being hyped, and words like "fomo" and "launching it all" being said - to date, nothing has happened in terms of promised rewards, validating a network or a revised and updated whitepaper.

Deposit contract code (which states intended launch date) - https://etherscan.io/address/0x0a545AB449978F2F9ff74A6F5bF80E6705D8971f#code

The team are also being sued by a former partner for breach of contract and for a lot of money and tokens that they were, according to the lawsuit, not allowed to sell. https://bitcoinpress.co.uk/unibright-sues-provide-over-blockchain-contract-dispute/

I also see potential issues with the distribution. There is no fair launch or good distribution, many tokens have been given out in large amounts to approx 100 addresses, so very centralised and top heavy.

Etherscan for token distribution - https://etherscan.io/token/0x65bb569faadd324a00883fde4c46346cc96d5c0a

Trading started in December on uniswap, but was quickly shutdown because one prvd holder was selling. Uniswap link for liquidity and trading launch - https://info.uniswap.org/#/pools/0x6abb15e565ae8a7ccabc2ad6c0f673d5cfc18a23

I also question the utility and whether it has been properly considered. The story is nice, but I personally do not believe that enterprise want to be part of a DAO due to legal and regulatory complications. There may be some demand, but I would think it is minimal.

I therefore find it hard to believe that this token will gain traction and be a good investment. Perhaps I am missing something, or do not fully understand, but Good luck to those who believe this will be a success.

$PRVD token:

The Provide (PRVD) ERC-20 token contract was deployed to the Ethereum mainnet on November 23, 2021 by this transaction.
The contract stipulates a maximum supply of 150,000,000 PRVD, all of which were minted when the contract was deployed.
Following deployment of the token contract, all 150,000,000 PRVD were moved to cold storage. The tokens were then distributed to staging addresses, also in cold storage, in preparation for the initial distribution as described herein.

*Deposit 2,500 UBT (Unibright) into this contract to secure your license to validate provide.network upon network launch.
*Depositors will be included in the initial Network Rewards contract, permitted to withdraw PRVD block rewards and participate in network governance as described in
whitepaper.

What is the Baseline Protocol?
The Baseline Protocol is a framework that enables enterprises to synchronize complex, multiparty, business processes with privacy and without moving data from systems of record.

Zero Knowledge circuits employ a common frame of reference that allows all parties in a networked business process to maintain their own systems-of-record in a verified state of consistency. Public blockchain is advised but not required.
