Since PewDiePie is out of youtube, has there been any change of plans on this project? I have seen that your website is still up. And by the way, does Pew know already the existence of your token?
Hi,
He's not really "out" of Youtube. He just needs more time to produce quality content and is slowly moving away from simple joke videos to something more meaningful. He has mentioned it a couple of times in his videos that he feels like he has more to give to the world than he is currently giving. And that having to constantly produce meme content every single day has made him feel trapped.
There have been no big plans or changes in relation to PewDiePie taking a break from Youtube, however we are working on a staking platform and turning the PEW token a staking token which earns you 6% PEW per year if you lock it in a smart contract (work in progress).
We plan to do one more final airdrop right around the 2nd birthday of BrofistCoin (19th of Feb). In total we estimate to airdrop an additional 100,000 PEW. Addresses that qualify are the ones who had at least 0.01 ETH in their balance during block 9000000. You can check if your address qualifies here: https://etherscan.io/balancecheck-tool
There will be an official registration form as we plan to eliminate as many bots and doubles as possible. The airdrop is done to help kickstart the staking platform which will be ready end of Q1 or early Q2. The 6% staking rewards will be paid out from PEW tokens that we plan on buying back from decentralized exchanges at market price. This is done to provide healthy liquidity to the PEW token and help it grow.
We have no idea if this will be a success or not, but that's part of why we're doing it. To find out! Hopefully the meme coin BrofistCoin can hop along for the DeFi ride
And finally, while I personally believe Felix does in fact hodl BrofistCoin, I have no way to prove it. We know that he's involved in stocks and that he has mentioned Bitcoin occasionally. He's livestreaming on DLive which is a decentralized platform so he's definitely not new to the crypto space.
One of the biggest reasons why he hasn't officially declared support towards BrofistCoin is likely the following (quoting my own Medium article):

when pew list on big exchanger ?
Hello, we are currently listed on ForkDelta and EasyTrade (both are decentralized exchanges).
That being said, I am personally a strong believer in everything that's decentralized and this is one of the reasons I haven't bothered adding our crypto in a "big" or "professional" exchanger.
I have been approached by a few smaller companies, but I have rejected their offers because they are only after profits whereas a true decentralized exchange does SIMPLY the one thing it's supposed to do: allow people to trade cryptocurrencies!
I am aware that in the public eye, when you are not listed on some huge exchange, you are worth nothing. But in reality all it shows is that you have paid huge BRIBES in order to be listed on some centralized company that can get "hacked" (read: owners running away and stealing all the funds) at any time and nobody can do anything to stop it.
On top of all that we are working on a marketplace platform and "PewDiePie's Trading Cards" that give PEW token actual tangible value. Our team is not interested in empty promises. This is why we've been quiet for a while too. We are busy developing instead of hyping!
There will be real value for BrofistCoin in the future, it just won't be in the form of hype and lies, but actual value that grows along with our development efforts.

Unfortunately I bring sad news to those of you who were looking forward to the mineable coin. Our lead developers have stopped working on it mainly because they no longer have the time.
However that does not mean BroFistCoin is over. Far from it!
During the last couple of days we have been working hard in order to reshape our project completely.
Here's what we have achieved so far:
We envisioned BroFistCoin to be the cryptocurrency to reward meme creators over at PewDiePieSubmissions subreddit from the beginning. This is one of the main reasons a mineable coin would have made no sense.
BroFistCoin should be earned by creating new and original content in the form of internet memes not by mining it on your computer without contributing to the community.
That being said the AirDrop is still ongoing and we will distribute all of the remaining coins as promised.
However that does not mean BroFistCoin is over. Far from it!
During the last couple of days we have been working hard in order to reshape our project completely.
Here's what we have achieved so far:
- PEW token becomes the official BroFistCoin
- Real world application for PEW coin is to incentivize content creators to come up with better quality memes
- Requested BroFistCoin to be listed as a supported token for the Reddit TipJar
- mathias_- became the first user to receive 100 PEW coins for their contribution to the community
- Internal PEW Transfer system finished. You can now send PEW coins to other people from our official website!
- Official BroFistCoin Youtube channel launched
- Intro video changed to include the part where PewDiePie says how memes are the most valuable asset on the internet
- Updated Roadmap
- Added About, FAQ and Transfer sections on our website (really must check those out!!!)
- Created a Medium profile where we will start publishing articles about our project
- Created a backup Discord channel just in case the original goes down

We are expecting the coin to be ready any day now. Looks like there were some serious flaws within the code of cryptonote which our coin will be based on. In our Discord chat there were a few suggestions to do this but the current consensus is they are completely different and independent things.What really happened was that I created the .io website and PEW token and then was contacted the next day by the Blockchain dev team who was already working on mineable BFC. We're now working together. Of course devs are going to get their fair share of PEW token once the initial distribution is finished.

Hey aditya6997! I'm sorry, but that's currently not possible. We are developing a joke coin and have absolutely no budget. If we were going to manually send everyone tokens we would have to pay a lot of fees. The token is free and it's essentially worthless. It's your choice if you want it or not. And if you are willing to pay the Gas for it.That said I am personally only going to complete payouts for those unlucky few who received 0 PEW token after paying for Gas while the token's value parameters were set to their default state, zero.

Basically what we do is we create a spreadsheet of all of the memes that were featured in the episode and pick the top 3 that received the most upvotes from the community. Each week a total of 100 BrofistCoin is shared between the top 3 meme authors.

Now that the airdrop has finished and 80% of the total supply is in the hands of the people it's time to take BroFistCoin to the next level! We are currently working on a Blockchain based trading cards game where you can win new cards to your collection. But instead of using Ether, we are of course going to use PEW token in our decentralized marketplace (a work in progress) to allow our players to buy and sell their collectibles easily.

Let's get one thing straight: PEW token will most likely never be listed on a centralized exchange. Notice the emphasis on the word centralized!
We believe strongly in decentralization and centralized 3rd party exchanges make absolutely no sense whatsoever. The underlying philosophy of any cryptocurrency is to act as digital "cash" without the need for 3rd party institutions like foreign exchange or banks.
A centralized cryptocurrency exchange serves absolutely no purpose. All they do is demand huge payments (read: bribes) from the developer teams in order to get their tokens listed. Not only that, but then they expect regular people, like you, to send fiat or crypto to their wallets just so people could exchange? Give me a break! It's no coincidence that the big exchanges get "hacked" time and time again.
The only real purpose of any centralized exchange is to artificially drive up the price of a cryptocurrency (a pump and dump). It's extremely easy for the exchange to manipulate any asset because they require a large portion of that asset from the developer teams in order to get listed. The centralized exchange controls the market and allows for pump and dump schemes to thrive. In the end the centralized exchange is the only one who benefits from this type of thing.
BrofistCoin doesn't want to be involved with any of that. Instead of hyping our cryptocurrency to the moon, we are learning all the ins and outs of the cutting edge Ethereum platform so that we can develop something that people will enjoy. At the moment we are working on the card game mentioned above, but who knows what the future will hold? The only thing that is certain is that we love developing and we believe the Ethereum network will power almost all of Internet within a decade.
