What if you lose your card or is stolen or anything, how would you ID yourself to them for a replacement card?

You can't. That's the drawback.

But presumeably you'll have at least card PIN protection.

However, I wouldn't load it too heavily Smiley

Which is not to say this isn't useful - it's VERY VERY useful indeed!

"BitPlastic will NEVER ask you for documents or ID.  We do not store any client personal information, so if the server gets hacked you are not vulnerable to identity theft (or even loss of coins, since they are stored OFFLINE).  We obviously do not report any transactions to any government.  We don't even require your real name to use our service.

Massive FAIL!

Yeah, While I like that in principle, it sets of so many red flags.

Has anyone got an image of the visa card? Does it look like the picture on their website?
Also what are the fees for requesting cash in the mail?

I have ~3 BTC but that is not the point. I see that there are more effective ways of cashing out, up to 98% of BTC-e rate

I'm registered too, but I'm not sure it's for me to pay 0.15 BTC for the card and then be locked with their fees and low-ball BTC/fiat exchange rate.
I agree, all depends on how much BTC you have.

As BTC price increases the fees will be better value.

I see it as a good service for travelling overseas.

I would still rather give fees etc to a BTC enterprise than the barstuards at the bank.  The more we use BTC the better it will become.
