I would suggest you to watch the movie Focus. According to the theory when something is in front of us always then we start imagining it and try to find and connection with it, sorts of things. It will better make sense once you will see the movie.

The kite doesnt fly for now but im sure as time goes by he will made one kite that will soar high.

Yes, those are the kites which are made by him but those does not fly Although he thinks that those should fly

I remember that when i was a kid, i never bothered to create these things rather buy them from the market. Yeah, its the interest and hidden talent of the children when they make such things.
