Satoshi is rolling in his grave. #bitcoin
You can be almost certain it will be harder to get verified. Current exchanges need to make the choice of going legit and following regulation or going underground. What's in the best interest for them is to go legit so they can continue to make money and exist. Going underground just puts them at risk. I'm glad finex and BTC-e are still easy to get in and out but who knows how much longer that will last.  Sad

Not much longer im afraid, as long as they are allowing people to stay anonymous they can be attacked by gouvernment for money laundering, and with every right.
@It seams that bankers are crawling slowly into bitcoin domain, it's scary to think they could try to dominate the only anti-banking tool we have.

I've read somewhere on their website about this guy joining them... What's in it for customers? How will he help improve Kraken? Is it going to make a difference for the end user?

Perhaps insured deposits? This guy works in compliance and plans to try to keep Kraken up-to-date on regulations. You can't be insured unless your company is compliant.

Insurance is definitely good, but that would probably make it harder to get verified (more documents/info needed). And as far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't trade the current usability and efficiency of the verification process for insurance. I hope he doesn't mess Kraken up... Let's see where this goes.

At this rate we won't have any bankers left by the halving  Cheesy

Kraken has appointed Howard Bernstein, the ex-CCO of Merriman Capital as the new Chief Compliance Officer. The company says the appointment will help it as Bernstein is someone who comes with similar background, can anticipate the evolving regulation around Bitcoin and to help ensure it is regulated in a way that protects consumers while allowing the game-changing Bitcoin ecosystem to flourish.
