I found it very funny that when Bitcoin is predicted to reach 0 everyone suddenly becoming an expert adviser. I remember when McAfee predicted that bitcoin will be 100,000 in 2020 and if not gonna eat his dick. Many people here comment the same way. Those two predictions arent believable?

Even if it were true and btc went to zero, the called criminals would continue making their businesses with or without bitcoin. Smiley
Anyway I wouldn't worry too much if bitcoin worth nothing. It would be just a signal no one cared anymore for bitcoin, so there should be another technology, another currency superior to bitcoin which everyone would be using. After all, enthusiasts must still be happy on that unlikely scenario.

The only thing that sucks here is the lack of liquidity. As a large trader you have to keep that in mind, otherwise you'll be losing unnecessarily due to slippage, which is why most of them rightfully stick to Bitcoin trading

And the sad news is that it is unlikely to change in the future

As there are only so many bitcoins out there (21M, give or take). It is somewhat counterintuitive but with prices climbing the supply runs dry, with the naive assumption being the reverse, i.e. the supply expanding. The thing is, prices can't rise without supply running short, but once we assume the former we should also assume the latter. Yes, it is kind of accounting identity, the ugly one at that. It is ugly because the powerful investors or speculators Soros sized can't enter this market as they will be the ones paying for the party and making the small fish like us instamillionaires

This has already been discussed a lot..... go to 0 is like not gonna happen to many strong believers and HODLers as user count keep increasing and BTC gets more and more attention, when I go to the gym, or resto or wherever I go, it happens more than once I just hear people talking or mentioning the name

And imo I see less and less people talking the DOOM scenarios for BTC, so yes each day is a day of stronger growth new user, new people getting interested etc
For argument sake let me tell you one possible scenario when the price of bitcoin could reach zero, if the US government bans the entire market and put an outright ban on bitcoin and if that happens the price will just dip to double figures and if every country follows that same route it can end up to zero  Cheesy.
We have a billion dollar market and more people are interested in the market and investing in it, the critics will have critic and it is their job, the market moves on even with their negative reviews  Grin.

The critics on bitcoin should continue and by the time they find out that investors and the populace are not looking at their side again, no one will tell them before shutting up. I don't think that any of their predictions about bitcoin has ever come to past and because of this we should forget about them and focus on the reality.

Bitcoin has proven many time that it is alive and it will never worth zero.
You are right, but there is a big chance that bitcoin will go down like since it is found(not totally zero). And there is also a big chance that the Bitcoin will become the next big thing. A skyrocket industry and heavenly creation. The possibilities of the bitcoin to become zero is from the Government. The government could ban the whole cryptocurrency open sourced operation and sue each and every person that would use it. And because of the, 90% of the people won't use it for their transactions.

However, there is also a big chance for the Bitcoin to become a skyrocketing industry if the government will support it and develop it for a lot of valid reasons.

Due to the fact that the market is open to anyone, it approaches a lot of people around it who make transactions freely. Having said that, there are no regulators that can silence it or regulate it. It will always have a heart beat.

If we go to the Stock Market, it has a lot of experience in that type of market, but normally it has a certain disparity with respect to the bitcoin market, as the bitcoin market is very volatile, and for many investors who are used to follow certain security conditions do not accept it, and because they simply prefer not to enter a market of that style.
There is a difference between investors and traders. Legacy investors find even tech stocks such as Facebook way to volatile and risky. Legacy traders are the opposite, they absolutely love the volatility that crypto offers.

Instead of using leverage, you can just trade crypto on a 1:1 basis and still enjoy large price swings. If that's not enough, you can even leverage your crypto trades. It's legit a paradise for all types of traders.

The only thing that sucks here is the lack of liquidity. As a large trader you have to keep that in mind, otherwise you'll be losing unnecessarily due to slippage, which is why most of them rightfully stick to Bitcoin trading.

Technically speaking, could he be right? Like I know he meant bitcoin will be zero soon or something but I am not asking that, I am asking do you think bitcoin will ever be zero, even a thousand years from now? We live in a world where technology is improving insanely quickly. This means we will be going to mars soon, we will probably not have fuel cars very soon, we will stop using oil and go to clean energy as well which will help the world survive a bit longer.

Many more major things will happen soon, like in next 50 years. What do you think about bitcoin in the years after that? Like the year is 2219 instead of 2019 which is 200 years from now, do you think bitcoin will exist? Do you think dollar/euro and all fiats will exists? I am not 100% sure but it feels like it may not, idea of "money" may be gone one day.

You are absolutely right, I would like to make a parenthesis regarding Warren Buffet, because I think he is a great investor, he has some great ideas, in fact many of his ideas apply them a lot, in the market, although he is not A faithful believer in the bitcoin market, it is because he simply does not see it secure, maybe he has a similar thought to that of banks and governments, which only trust what is already safe or what gives them security.

That's his opinion and everybody is entitled to his/her opinion. Bitcoin has been a victim of many unfair criticisms including numerous death sentences but it still alive and continues to rise. As long as there are investors and people that continue to support the leading cryptocurrency, that zero forecast will never materialize. Expect more fuds and other negative comments against bitcoin while its price is still rising. Some people are really wanted the price to go down so they can buy bitcoin at lower price again.

People in crypto is immune about this kind of fud news or predictions

There's no such immunity

And that's the whole point of what we conveniently call FUD, and that likely explains as well why these talking heads are still producing noise about Bitcoin being dead "just around the corner" (i.e. to instill what FUD stands for). So even if you honestly think you are immune to this kind of news, you are not in fact as deep down (read, subconsciously) you still care what these people say about Bitcoin (or whatever). It is called fear, uncertainty, doubt for a reason, and it is the outcome of humans being essentially herd animals stuck with herd mentality. It is hard wired and you can't possibly get rid of it (but you can pay attention)

There is no need to tell about such big heads as Buffet and others. My mom tells me almost once a week that she heard on TV how they say that bitcoin is just another financial pyramid.
Meanwhile I continue to have some extra profit monthly with crypto currencies, and I guess, that tells a lot.
Someone must have been sending some wrong information to these people to misunderstood how Bitcoin really works. People who don't know anything will start to follow what the rumors been telling them. We should have to seek the truth and research everything if we could in order for us to know the things that have most critics in it.

in my opinion there is a difference between what Buffet says about bitcoin from a perspective of an old investor who only invests in things that have a physical "product" that he understand and with those who are calling bitcoin a "pyramid scheme".
the first one is understandable and is a view of its own but the second is just dumb people on the internet spreading bullshit.

Many critics are like this they are pessimistic about how bitcoin work and they always tend to say stupid things they don't know just because they had some bad experience with cryptocurrency or bitcoin, Well I say that we should just let them be and let them say what they want and always stay in what you believe in and keep on the hold for the future.
That is right mate, the best way to handle this this type of people that creates FUD about bitcoin is just to be mute and place a deaf hear to most of their news, it will slowly fade away and die off. From the time bitcoin was created is when so many of them has been creating FUD news, we even have some stronger personalities then than the ones we have now and yet they could not make this crypto tech die.

If bitcoin has survived all these attacks from left and right for the past 10 years, I don’t think that there is any news that can really kill bitcoin again. We should just continue to hold our investment and not give in to tactics of whales to create dump.

Allow them to criticize it's also there position to think whatever they've like, future will dictates what will be the fate of this industry.

I regard people who predict bitcoin will head to zero as clowns who will join the body count of those whose credibility was destroyed by underestimating the cryptocurrency. So many people have lost credibility over time. By all means, more people can join this body count if they wish.

Bitcoin has been going for 10 years strong and it will lay waste to more arrogant victims with bad predictions.

Now, I am sure that 10 years may not be enough to silence critics -- big, small, known, unknown, influential and not -- of bitcoin as there are still those who are wishing (or rather predicting maybe) that bitcoin can be zero...soon! An example of old-school critic is Warren Buffet who is a popular and very successful investor but not inclined to believe in the value and future of bitcoin.

Then we have many media influencers and an example of this is another old-school named John Crudele and he is writing a column for NYPost.com. His objection to bitcoin is immortalized in his own words: "Bitcoin will soon be worth zero. But until then criminals will still be able to use it and other digital currency to move money around the world without being caught."

At the end of the day, we live in a democratic space and we welcome diversity of ideas, opinions and convictions so we still appreciate people who are in the opposite side of the picture.
I have forget and not remember when I have time for all this criticism on bitcoin as I am focusing on reality and not falsehood! Most of the popular people criticized bitcoin have lost touch with reality and by the time they will regain consciousness, they may not forgive the damage done to themselves. We are at the time when the so call unprofessionals are making right investment decisions and I will not allow those professionals investors that has kept the world in dark to influence my investments decisions again.

I guess we are used to this by now, people have called bitcoins death for years now and it has not died no matter what. They were super happy when bitcoin went from 20 thousand dollars each to almost 3 thousand each and they were all writing news about how they were right and how bitcoin is dying now, well look at us now over 8 thousand dollars and still going strong.

People who are not in bitcoin or missed out or afraid to go in will never stop calling bitcoins death, it will not happen and bitcoin is not going anywhere and my suggestion to them anytime they make any money on writing about bitcoins death they should have bought bitcoin with it, that way they would have at least made some money with it, otherwise its just pure hatred towards something they envy.

There is no way the price of bitcoin will go to zero. As long as there is someone who is mining the coins and if there is someone who is using it, then there will still be a value for the coin. Until something very messed up happens with the coin or a huge problem is found which has no solution, the price of bitcoin will never reach zero. It might become valueless (or of less value) if something better has been invented. Though this will also take time since people won't instantly get used to the new system.

I was expecting an article in which the author will at least make an effort to prove his claim in some way, and it's actually a few sentences which can be read in 30 seconds. This is even below the level of elementary school kid, and it is unbelievable that someone is paying attention to this.

In short, the author think bitcoin will go to zero just because it go down from $20k to $4k, and from $8k to $7k few days ago. He also claim that Mario Draghi which is President of the European Central Bank has a similar opinion, and what else one banker could think abut bitcoin. This is even below the lowest levels of the worst journalism, but if someone pay this so-called journalist to write that the sun will stop shining in next few months, he will do that probably - using brain is just not a option for some people.

Well, some of them do have some solid arguments, the problem is you can never predict these things, however we know it's possible for bitcoin to die, there are a number of different ways it could happen. The technology could become obsolete, although this seems very unlikely. There could be some vulnerability that no one knows about yet and could make bitcoin worthless, this happened to many other coins. A 51% attack is also technically possible although again, super unlikely.

Most of the billionaire investors don't understand exactly what Bitcoin is, they read some article for 5 minutes and label it a scam. However if they read the whitepaper then most likely their mind would change.

I think lots of people see others' reactions to Bitcoin hype and then liken it to how passing fads look. And admittedly, during bubble times, it does look like a fad......the entire market stops caring about fundamentals, everyone chases after gains in vaporware and snake oil, all the "new paradigm" talk.

So from that perspective, I'm not surprised so many people take one look and see "scam" especially because that's reinforced by their financial biases. If you're a nocoiner, do you want Bitcoin to moon? Of course not. So you'll look for reasons to confirm your biases.

Who is John Crudele?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Crudele

Quote
John Crudele is a columnist and business journalist in the United States. He writes syndicated political columns for the New York Post. Earlier in his career he worked for Reuters, The New York Times,[1] and as a columnist for New York Magazine. He was also a Financial News Network host.[2]

In November 2013, the Columbia Journalism Review and Washington Post criticized a column he did alleging manipulation of employment data.[5][6] In March 2017, U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted a column by Crudele criticizing the New York Times.[7]

You just have to check at his background and you will know that this guy is not to be trusted. He was criticized by the same group he is under with, no less than manipulating the data. So for me, this is just another non-sense critic who's background is not to be trusted by anymore in the crypto world.

As the saying goes, “an unfruitful tree will not be noticed” is always true. There will always be no superstar without the supporting stars as they say in movie industry. In cryptocurrency world, bitcoin in particular, it will never attain its peak of success without too many challenges. With out people pulling it down it will never strive hard moving forward. Thanks to both critics/unbelievers and supporters for without them bitcoin would have not survived till now.

it's either gonna be worth nothing (if adoption tapers off and years later, nobody is using it) or it's gonna be worth a whole lot. i'm pretty sure satoshi said something to that effect.......it's just the design of a scarce network-based commodity.

the second outcome is becoming more likely everyday, but it's not set in stone yet.

Best advice: never trust media or ''experts'' on anything. Did you know the polls showed Hilary was going to win at like 99.9% certainty? She didn't, polls and experts also thought brexit wouldn't happen. The so called experts are nothing but charlatans, most of them are not experts, they are journalists. It's also extremely hard to predict whether bitcoin will go to zero or not, it could actually go to zero, easily. I know, no one wants that here but it's certainly a possibility.

Of course this won't always be the scenario for us since BTC also has a bear cycle and if this happens all the nocoiners including him will say "I told you so". I say let him because his words really don't mean anything at all as it doesn't even affect the prices we see now. Where is my ring of blades...
unfortunately we don't really have any "critics" based on what I see, all we have are some people with doomsday signs saying "The End Is Nigh" who don't really have any convincing reasons for it either. at this point that the adoption of bitcoin has grown to a decent stage where even developed countries like Japan have accepted it as a legal currency and big companies like Microsoft are accepting it as payment, the only debate is whether it will reach mass adoption and $1 million+ or not.

The worst ever shitcoin can't even go to zero, so how will Bitcoin ever go to zero? Cheesy
I think you may need to visit the altcoin graveyard on sites like this one: https://deadcoins.com/
every now and then market purges the dead shitcoins otherwise we wouldn't have 2500ish coins and instead would have had 50,000 coins

I guess technically you're correct--a lot of shitcoins listed on Yobit have been going for 1 satoshi probably since they were created, but if you can't even find a buy order for a coin (which is true for a lot of those), then they're essentially worth zero.

But bitcoin going to zero?  Hell, no.  Not unless a startling breakthrough form of financial tech comes along and absolutely kills it, but as of right now I haven't read of anything in the pipeline that fits that description.  Some people just either don't understand bitcoin or do understand and don't like it.  What can you do?  In every endeavor there are going to be naysayers.

As an aside, OP has been including unnecessary pictures in his posts, which I find annoying and they remind me of a recently banned member used to make a habit of doing the same thing.  For the life of me, I can't remember his name.  Could be a coincidence.

Some of those are not real critics, they are just being paid to ruin cryptocurrency and some of them holds bitcoin who's trying to dip the market and buy. Bitcoin will never become zero again, even if USA ban this one because I know most of the country already have a good regulations that can support bitcoin during the bad times.

I think these critics are hoping to be right at one point, because hey, if you guess long enough, eventually you'll be right. They just don't get that even if Bitcoin fails and it sinks back to $100 or whatever, it will still serve a purpose. This virus can only temporarily be put to a stop if you cut off the world power supply, which isn't possible with how distributed the power sources are. Suck on that.  Cool

This bitter Critic will never cease.  Haters gonna hate and Bitcoin have too many of that.

The difference between that guy and the one above is that he's one of the first to correctly call out why The Man should be getting hot and bothered by this.

As for the other one, surely 'it will go to zero... and CRIMINALS' is so quaintly retro I can't believe the publisher bothered to entertain it. Do people actually get paid for that level of content?

Yeah right!  Tongue So much for democracy when a member of the house of representative of US (United States Congressman Brad Sherman)  appeal to his colleague to support him in banning all cryptocurrency because it threatens to diminish American Power with regards to foreign policy.

United States Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA) has called on colleagues to outlaw cryptocurrencies, saying they threaten to disempower American foreign policy and diminish the rule of law.

BTC + Crossfit, living life.

BTC = her to change a lot of broken sh*t
