One of the problems of this country is that we are not proactive about critical problem affecting the country we instead the government will wait until when there's a building collapse that's when the government will come and sympathize with the victims of the incident
Until we become proactive with problems in the country we will continue to have incident of building collapse because when it comes to building of houses in the country there is a lot of quack and fake engineers and there's no regulations as any body can build a house without the services of a professional engineer who will certify and inspect the material used for the construction site

Extremely disheartening but my concerns is that even things like this don't even move our leaders whose contract for renovations and maintenance or even build new structure is been awarded as many make use of sub standard material both for maintenance and building of New structure if and only if they even do the contract, it's very painful that things like this keep happening on daily basis and no remedy from government or any agency that can profile solution the way I am seen the policy of our leaders and their way of handling issues it show that they have lack what it takes to serve the people.

No be everything we go de blame government for. some of this things na the negligence on the part of our engineers and even those people when de use those building. No de supprised say the building fit don de give sign say e no de strong again but then go still de manage am like that. This na raining season and anybody when de for building when him know say the structural integrity of that building no de strong supposed know say e make sense to make plans in preparation for this kind of period.

Shebi na because say this one na school building when de house plenty children na him this matter cast like this abi? E get plenty building when de for location when houses no supposed de based on say the place na water logged areas and some na even channels when water take de pass through but you go see people comforbly living in such a locations. Abi we wan talk about some building when be say them de demolish some part for the top then create multiple rooms and construct it to what they want without considering that the foundation might not have what it takes to carry the total weight of such building.

So many things no just de right for this we country and most of them na we just decide to de careless with am. As e don happen like this na now we go know say we need check some of these our dilapidated building after which everything will be restored to factory setting and left like that.

Dis na very sad news and my condolences to di families of students wey don lose dem lives for dis unfortunate incident. Di issue of collapsed buildings no be new thing for dis country, property owners and engineers go de manage materials wey dem suppose to take build upstairs make e de solid and withstand di test of time. Government wey suppose to de evaluate di structures sometimes dem officials sef go fit to collect bribe and allow substandard building materials and also approve buildings wey no reach standard. So for dis rampant building collapse matter na both di builders and di government officials wey de approve buildings get di blame and di authority suppose hold dem accountable for di lose of innocent lives.

In a recent development, there is sad news about 200+ students currently trapped under a collapsed school building in Jos. The unfortunate incident happened today while innocent children were writing their examination in a school building that lacked basic structural integrity and was probably neglected by the government and allowed to house hundreds of students in it.
As I see the news the matter really pain me ooo, but dis one no be government I Dey blame alone for dis kin matter, Dey suppose arrest the engineer wey work for d building for not using quality matters, how you go collect contract to build and you no go do am well, and you know say na people life you Dey put at risk. D way buildings Dey even collapse for dis country now self Dey scary, something should be done about it, make government make sure say na quality materials dem Dey import, or produced in d country, also make contractors Dey use quality materials, make dem no Dey manage, and make people wey get projects make sure say na qualified people dem Dey give work.

If you've visited some public schools in some localities and looked at the crowd of students learning in an old two to three-story building that's half dead and yet still in use, you will weep for our dear nation.
If you see some public schools for dis country, you go just shake head, and you go see d way student go full class. I don’t really know Wetin our politicians Dey do, to renovate or build new schools na problem again, I don’t know d work of our local government chairman, our House of Representatives, our senators, things like this na dem suppose Dey handle am now, if dem start to Dey fix schools wey Dey under there  constituency, we for no Dey see things like dis.

Cases of building collapse have been on the rise more often than expected and most of these buildings are situated in environments with poor drainage systems and water-logged areas that make it too unsafe for individuals staying in them and yet most of the people making use of these building have no alternative since the private schools are too expensive for the average families to afford and have to settle for what's affordable and now they have to pay the price with their lives.

As a community that's part of the Nigerian society, we sympathize with all the families that are affected in this gory and sad incident and we hope it will not only trigger short-term concerns that will be swept under the carpet in no time. It's really a sad development indeed.
