Altcoin price drops is due to high value appreciation bitcoin experience in the past few days but I think this is not a bad thing instead this is an opportunity to invest and choose a better alt to invest surely the price of alts will recover after the fork it just need to give way for bitcoin pump I know after this bitcoin will stop increasing again and that's the time for the alts to take over.

I'm just wondering if altcoins will experience another major dip caused by people rush buying Bitcoin on the last days?
You will see that in the future, but that was absolutely true. another dip will come as the more people are rushing to get the more bitcoin 2x. That means a lot of volume will be back again to the bitcoin.
And especially will be divided into the fork coin of the bitcoin itself.

What is interesting is despite the forks the altcoins are taking to recover and the bitcoin by outrolado is firing. It was expected that the bitcoin would lower the value, pos would be creating a new currency parallel to the bitcoin.

I think it would be good to buy altcoins at the moment, for example, the doge coin is worth less than half of what was worth last year, I'm afraid the coin will end up dying for being extremely low value.

I hope the altcoins will recover so that we can make a little profit from these casualties.

People will wait until the 2x block then rush back to their favourite alts.

I'm not sure if they will win or lose depends who gets back in first.

If 2x flops and only settles at 10% or less of btc value then they will surely lose if they are not early back in to the alts.

I am not risking it. Just buying up more and more cheap alts as they sink.

Of course only those I would consider solid proven projects.

It has already started, a lot of altcoins are in most cases decreasing in value right now, which is not good for investors who bought when the value was a bit higher and are now loosing on their initial investments. I am one of those investors and have been waiting hoping that the value might some how recover, but it doesn't want to recover. Hopefully, once we are over all these forks, the value of most altcoins will begin recovering. What usually happens is that, in most cases, investors dump altcoins in order to claim the equivalent amount from the fork.

Well, Everyone is trying to cut some losses by slowly dumping their altcoins to buy more bitcoins and doing it in such a way to avoid causing any panic sell, Altcoins are not totally junk, They do have their own values. ETC on the other hand though is pumping for moon landing I suppose. Maybe we all should invest on ETC to pump it's price up to $30 before the bitcoin hard fork Cheesy

There's also the possibility of a dump before the fork with people getting out before everyone else does and cashing in on the crazy price of btc. I'm not waiting for the fork myself the risk is just too high.

that could happen. But i think people are waiting for their free coins before dumping either segwit or btc. Eitherway, rise of altcoins after the fork is what's clear to me.

I think it will. It has in the previous fork. It has been a trend that people convert their altcoins to btc days before the fork. So feel free to take advantage of the dip. Buy em all altcoins. Good luck! 👍

I see a lot of people saying this, and it makes sense why they would say that.

since most of the attention is going to drawn to bitcoin trading before the fork, and people are betting on the success of the fork essentially, money will naturally get squeezed out of altcoins. However, i feel like that altcoins may have a chance to actually gain some value since people see them as safe havens for their money in a time for volatility.

It can really go both ways, it's way too early to say right now.

It probably will depend on how bitcoin's price is going.

If bitcoin's price continues to go strong then honestly i don't see a chance for altcoins to grow at the moment. They'll have to wait until bitcoin pump is over and the altcoin markets will get revived by that time(whenever it is).

If the fork has a negative impact on BTC then altcoin will probably start rising again.

Most probably yes, then I expect a HUGE btc dump, and alts pumping. Btc forking is always a good time to get very cheap alts.

Is it the BTC will be dumped or the segwit?
It depends but most probably segwit2X version of btc will be the one that will be dumped. Still, the possibility of segwit2X being the original chain exists because if it turns out that it is better than the original, then it might replace the old chain. If it isn't better than the original btc, it will remain to be an altcoin although it will always retain a value. IIt also depends on which chain users will mostly use after fork.

No, still too soon to call this pattern. We all saw what happened after Bitcoin Cash fork, so those like me experienced alts declining and thought it was a great time to buy. Then we saw that the same pattern happened before Bitcoin Gold fork, but Bitcoin did not dump and just continued to go higher and higher. As a result, alts just kept getting cheaper and cheaper.

Remember Segwit2x fork is not going to be anything like the earlier two. This is a very serious fork with serious backing. The market will be extremely unpredictable. All trading will be gambles, make no mistake.

Bitcoin did not decrease in value because people dont care about BTG. they're waiting for segwit. So is it possible that more altcoins will continue to fall, days before the fork
