Crudpuppy, you should try mining the most profitable coin with the GPU. Check out https://hashco.ws and see if you like it.

I don't mine, just trading. If I had early gen asics, I'd probably be pointing them at the most profitable altcoins to do so.

Welcome and good luck with litecoin mining. Its all we can do with our GPUs when we dont want invest in ASIC rigs Smiley

I started as just a test mining bitcoin on my gpu but soon decided that was futile.  I do have some usb eruptors doing bitcoin now as well as my gpu doing litecoin.  So got both sides running :-)  figured if my machines are up 24/7 anyway which several are here might as well make some money off them when idle.  That and its just cool!

Welp,  Guess like everyone else just a introduction and a say hi the newb coming in thread.

I am starting hobby sized mining after looking around for a while.  Starting with some USB erupters 2 right now more incoming.
I normally am a freelance web developer who really wishes I had heard about and looked into bitcoin long ago instead of just now as I'm sure most who are just entering this area do.
Good of entering now: asic
Bad: network difficulty making this as a biz not really suggested.

I am also starting small gpu mining of litecoins just for giggles as well.

All out geek but appears from stuff I seen so far some of you guys are way better hardware hackers then me.  I'm more software and do NOT do well with a soldering gun or circuit design.

Use and admin Linux machines regularly been using Linux since I installed slackware from floppy sets way back when.

Oh and if anyone gets my userid is a reference too I'll be impressed as I've been using it or dustpuppy for years in games etc and no one ever knows.
