i thought fist currency will never fly ...now i think its the way of the future ....
I don't remember when exactly I heard first about Bitcoin, when it was mentioned I never really got informed about it and just assumed it was some some virtual currency similar to gold in World of Warcraft.
When I REALLY found out about Bitcoin was about a month ago when alot of the banks in The Netherlands were having problems with they online payment systems / being DDOS-ed and I saw some tweets along the lines of "at least my Bitcoins are safe" or "time to switch to Bitcoin", then I actually took the time to research it and got fascinated by it.

First heard about it in a slashdot article slight before or after it's release... Surprisingly they didn't have too much bad to say lol.
I first heard about it a couple years ago and thought it was a great idea and tried to buy some but didn't want to figure it out enough because the only thing I could buy were drugs. I got in again in April along with a lot of other people 
Similar to you guys, I heard about it and thought it seemed pretty neat. In fact, I'm in the process of creating a forum, which I aim to bring together a whole new community of cryptocoin enthusiasts...

I am a college student. I first read about BitCoin on Economist, and I thought it is brilliant. I hate the fact that government has been using money reserve to adjust price of currency arbitrarily at the interest of the people and that makes me excited to hear about decentralised system. That's pretty much it.

I want to hear what you all thought the first time someone told you about btc. Did you think the person was crazy? Did they explain btc well? Did you read about it in an article? What were your thoughts?
Any additional information like age, how long you've known about btc for, what industry you work in et cetera might shine light onto how people view BTC
I think this is a newbie focused but still interesting topic. Very interested to see how newbies respond
