we all have to be more careful and personally try to educate and enlighten the people around us about scammers.
Yes, education expectedly plays a part. However, educate a man who has cardinal greed, and give him all the cash you want he will still be greedy. Isn't that what we find with leaders in Africa (especially my country Nigeria?) These people who fall prey  to scams are mostly not those who aren't educated and enlightened. I've seen graduates who fell for ponzi schemes whose modus operandis were obvious to a simple eye that they were scams. Yet the so called graduates couldn't discern them because they were blinded by greed of what ROI that was dangled before them.

With each passing day, whenever I hear or read someone's sob story here of how they got scammed; my position gets fortified. Nothing else entices greedy investors more and weakens their senses of reasoning than outrageous ROI promised. This is the easiest way to get people hooked on whatever scheme one is planning. Without allowing greed get a better part of us, we should be wiser. It's sad that people get scammed because of their unreasonable greed. How on earth will someone promise to return a double of whatever one invested within an 1hr (even in a month, it's still doubtful) and we consider it to be true? That's a horrible way of reasoning to start with for anyone who in their faintest fantasy considers that to be possible.
As unfortunate as it sounds, many still fall prey to such, many people are not as informed, exposed, vigilant or as smart as we are here in discerning a scammers tool. Are you aware that the number of scammers are increasing on a daily? this also signifies that the frequency of people encountering scammers is also going to become higher. If a scammer speaks to 50 persons in a day, there's a chance that 2 persons out of the 50 may fall prey to the tricks, we all have to be more careful and personally try to educate and enlighten the people around us about scammers.

Thank you OP for sharing your experience.

In my experience, I have been contacted severally by persons who claim to be agents from my bank that i have certain issues with my debit card and i should call out the numbers in front and back of the card for them to fix it up. Some unsuspecting individuals may easily fall prey having heard the very well composed English of the person who claimed to be my bank agent, but not me.

Please Note: Your bank will never ask for the details of your card over the phone.

I have received more than 5 scammers text..

This one is today's own👇

By referal from a staff in (MGS) you are shortlisted for an interview tomoro @ our office Opp Prosco  okaka, by express  way yenagoa  Time 8:30AM RF:MGS/GV.
From what I see right now, its doesn't pose any threat yet because, it doesn't speak of an investment plan nor seeks you out to fund any project. Never the less, it doesn't mean it has got no real danger. Most legit programmes out there or organisations organisations don't go seeking out any random set of persons for an interview. You either apply or perhaps they get to see your profile through some means, maybe a referrer and then seek you out.
This gives me a reason to doubt the authenticity of what they do. Perhaps, there true colours would be revealed if you get to attend but that's a risk I won't  take if I'm not desperate!

It's very common in all social media, like Telegram that considering a house of scammers, IMO.

Does the text that you received has from your mobile phone?
I think your mobile number has been exposed, you need to replace it or otherwise ignore those messages that you've received.
The same on my side, I also receive messages on my email address, on my mobile number, and even on my Telegram, if that's not business-related I won't reply.

It's all about greed that's why many people fall into this kind of trap, we should have extra diligence when it comes to financial matters.  Don't trust stranger people on the internet offering a big profit that needs to invest.

Sad to say even it's obvious that they're giving a too good to be true offer, there are still people that becomes a victim of it.

Feeling bad about those victims because they're letting their greed pass their own money to these scammers. Another sad story is that there are those became a victim of these scams, never learn from their mistake.

They keep falling again into these scams because they never learn and still trying if they can get easy and quick money. Random messages like that should just be better ignored.

This thread is not directly related to Bitcoin and there are already so much of this scam awareness threads around.
Beginner's & Help or Off-topic could be a better fit.
Maybe not directly related but that could be largely due to the fact that, its some locale scam and becuase, I never stated my convince of payment to be cryptos. Else, you can be rest assured that this trick could spam through other nations with a little modification.

Scammers always work with what is convenient with you the supposed victim. Haven't been able to convince you, they would hate it that the means to reaping you off of your funds becomes an issue. Therefore, they would always work out the means to give you comfort and work with what is of convince to you.
Besides, with the anonymous and decentralized nature of cryptos, it becomes the most desirable. After all, they are all about the money!

Another message in this is that, users be mindful of platforms they visit and the details they put out. These guys are also phishing for private details to use in a potential hack.

Greed.
Scammers mostly bank on the greed of people they contact and it is quite a powerful emotion which can override normal thought process and make people fall for otherwise obvious scams.

Another Scammer

Sometimes, you wonder why people fall for cheap scams?
You know and feel this has been done one too many times that every single individual on the planet of proper age and capable of making an investment should be aware of. Unfortunately, where ignorance resides, a sad story is likely to always follow.

Over the weekend, on Thursday to be precise, a scammer approached me with a known account on Facebook messenger and tried to run a scam scheme on me. As usual, with some super or too good to be true promises of doubling your investments in 45 minutes. I wonder how they even come up with these too good to be true promises and expect people yo fall for it. Fortunately for them, some people still do and I say this becuase, the owner of the account I was contacted with did and that's how, her account and money where chartered away.

It no longer ends with the money you fund them with in choosing an investment plan people, your details as you input them are used to hack your social media accounts and use reputation to make contacts with your friends in search of a potential victim.

Here is a screenshot of the discussion that ensured between myself and the scammer in possession of my friend's account.

Also, a copy of a fake Credit alert to a local bank account belonging to the hacked users account to make the trick more convincing. I covered the users name with the blue lines whole, the scammer covered the users balance

Also, the scammer crafted a wall of text that was reflected on the users status as a form of awareness campaign.

*NOTE:* This platform is supported by Cooperative affairs Commission Of Federal

Using this trick, this friend of mine was scammed of $100 and got her account hacked as well to try same trick on her friends being myself and others. Fortunately for me, beauty has got no place with me when it comes to investment and I am very much aware of these diluted tricks. It even claims to be legally registered!

Anyway, the scammer tried to be persuasive and even promised to test me out by making a $18 investment on my behalf and upon getting my profit, I was to refund the capital. All that was needed was my local bank account details and working phone number (You could see that in the screenshot above but not my details though). Of course, I gave those out, its not a private detail and no harm could come off it. It's been 2days now and the scammer is yet to make contacts with me, lol!

Things to note and conclude on this to be a scam
1. Too good to be true promises (X2 of invested capital and more still, in 45 minutes). Its a red flag.
2. The faked alert has got no session identity number (hence, transaction isn't verifiable). Red flag.
3. Whom ever could double his or her capital in 45 minutes won't contact you on social media (that's some rich fellow and you should sort them out). Red flag.

CAUTION
* Never be in a hurry to invest.
* Never pick up ponzi schemes for an investment package.
*Avoid too good to be true investment plans
* when contacted with a known account on social media, contact the users cell phone number if trusted to be sure.
* Always separate business from pleasure, the two doesn't go.

One way to help out to further dilute this scheme and save others from falling into these scams, write a scam notification on your page, tag the hacked user and a lot of other friends before posting. That way, the post would be displayed on all your pages and the public would be cautious.

Scammers are out there and so we all should be warned!
