No words. But to those people, directly, indirectly or not at all involved, who made some good amount of bitcoins in this pump and dump scam, congratulations hehehe.

The Verge team is proving to be totally and utterly inept at safeguarding its currency from external hacks. Today marks the third successful attempt to hack the cryptocurrency and steal funds from any number of sources.

Specific (and competent) developers are marking this latest attack as pure and utter incompetence on the part of the Verge team.

Via a post earlier this AM:

“Seriously, I even don’t think anymore it’s an attack …..Things are so suspect by now viewing the last 3 months what happens at Verge.

– first, a crowdfund of 75M XVG to used for the mega ultra partnership, damn, who the hell pays for a partnership? You are a client or buyer if you pay for something. However, nothing left from this 75M XVG neither the deal was exclusive as announced, makes it even more suspect that something was paid with this XVG deal.

– then day after day millions of XVG get time spoofed. Come one, nobody lets day by day over weeks now millions of XVG going like that. In my opinion, that’s a pure inside job and would as well explain the reason why it never gets fixed!

That’s of course just my opinion and I could be totally wrong. But seeing what’s going on there day by day it’s the closest by now possible scenario.”

And more developer reaction:

“Basically, you have to ask yourself some questions. Are the XVG devs really so incompetent that they just don’t know how to fix it, thus leaving the chain open to attack (which is currently happening)? Or, are they failing to properly secure their coin for another reason altogether.”
