Donating 10% to charity
You cannot easily change Peter Schiff's mind when it comes to cryptocurrencies and his stand with gold. Knowing that the dude is a gold bug for a few decades now, I don't think no key points would ever be laid down on that debate that would convince him that bitcoin is also the real deal and not just gold. But considering the experience of these two with the two assets that they have been working on, this might just be a good debate with some interesting points to be taken.

At least now it's someone with decent knowledge. I've heard Arthur Hayes lost his debate with Nouriel Goubini really hard. I've always wished Andreas Antonopoulos would school those critics though. It would be very one sided for sure. Unfortunately he's just uninterested[1].

There must be one reason why he is uninterested and is probably the same reason why you think that he is smart enough to give classes to those critics, he must be seeing that it is a completely and huge waste of time.

The quality of one debate will normally be decided by the quality of the words of the less skilled speaker, if you argue with someone not so smart or dumb then the quality of the debate will be almost childish, if not worse.

However, if he did find a man or woman with enough culture i'm sure that he would totally do it if there is a good reason to do so. If it's another teacher it would probably be better. Otherwise, why wasting time doing it?

oh no the pump guy to debate him? I had to block that guy on twitter, shit is annoying always talking about the price of fiat. I think Pompliano is a fiat lover.

Let me debate him.

1) They confiscated all the gold before, you should know Peter Schiff you are a gold bug.  Executive Order 6102 (they can`t take your password from your brain, yet)
2) Gold cannot be transported across the world in milliseconds, and when we become a multi planetary species, across space in milliseconds.
3) We need the Gold for electronics not a currency, for if we use it as a money supply we will check mate ourselves onto this planet, it is needed for the computers and spaceships to expand our race further into space.
4) Bitcoin is more divisible, if gold were to replace fiat, we would not even be able to see how much gold we trade for 1 apple, it would be impossible to measure.
5) We know the supply of bitcoin, what happens if we find a planet full of gold?
6) We are literally destroying mountains for a little bit of gold, We are pouring chemicals (Mercury) in the mountains just to break down the gold. I literally went to B.C/Yukon last year it is sick what they are doing to the land.

One pro for gold is, it is written in the Constitution that all debts must be paid back in gold, but the founding fathers had no clue WTF computers were at the time, let alone blockchain, we live in a new age, The Digital Age.

Anyways really it should be a debate about Gold and Bitcoin both being better than FIAT and why goverment/private banking family money is a $cam and $lavery.

Another debate I would school both these guys in, is TIME and DURATION being better than all of this shit bitcoin, fiat and gold. FOR WE ALL WORK FOR IT ALREADY and it is the only way to have fair distribution in a currency.

This will be a great debate and I will be keeping an eye on it. Gold lovers will never ever change their views , as they think that s the best ever investments .

While a lot of gold bugs are definitely too biased to take interest in bitcoin, not at all. I'd say a good number of big names in the cryptocurrency space were previously gold bugs. A good example would be Saifedean Ammous(author of The Bitcoin Standard[1]), whereas though he prefers bitcoin over gold, he still likes gold simply due to it's market stability.

PeterSchiff and pomp will be debating Bitcoin and Gold on CNBC’s Crypto Trader with cryptomanran as the moderator.

What’s your view on Bitcoin Vs Gold? Can Pomp change Peter’s view towards Bitcoin?

This will be a great debate and I will be keeping an eye on it. Gold lovers will never ever change their views , as they think that s the best ever investments . Even most governments think so and have huge reserve of gold incase of any collapse.

It will be very hard to change Peter's opinion.

Well when I see the name Peter Schiff, some word like Gold Maximalist just emerges in my brain.
I think sometime later some points among this debate to fight him would be used by shitcoiners to fight bitcoin maximalist.

My point is bitcoin is a thing causing paradigm shift. We can use the analogy between gold and bitcoin only for convenience. While I never believe bitcoin to be some new gold which actually relegates bitcoin to shitgold (like shitcoin for bitcoin).

It's not going to be an easy debate because convincing Peter Schiff about bitcoin as another gold if I should put it that way will be an uphill task, but I look forward to the outcome of the debate.

Precisely. I mean, I'm pretty sure we're allowed to like both gold and bitcoin. Gold is still good right now as hedge/SoV, until bitcoin becomes stable enough sometime in the future. Unfortunately though, I'm pretty sure we're just going to hear the same arguments from Peter Schiff(as per Schiff's past multiple debates with Erik Voorhees and Ivan on Tech). Nevertheless, I'm interested in hearing Pompliano's rebuttals.

There is trouble abrewing
the only thing good about this debate in my opinion is that it has the potential of introducing bitcoin to many viewers. otherwise i personally dislike such comparisons since bitcoin and gold are very different from each other. while bitcoin is purely a currency that should be used as a medium of exchange, gold has lots that attribute a long time ago and now it i more of a valuable object than a medium of exchange.
investment-wise they are still uncomparable since bitcoin is new and growing, while gold has thousands of years of history.

For sure Antonopoulos would make Schiff a little more interested with what bitcoin as to offer, especially on the technology side of things. He's just the dude that I highly respect and knows what he really talks about when it comes to bitcoin and other things re: economy.

Yep! Anthony Pompliano definitely knows about the institutional investor side of things, but I think he's going to fall short on the technology side of things. Andreas Antonopoulos is pretty much just the perfect balance of economics and technology; and to add to that, he's very used to public speaking. If there's someone that could potentially convince these people, it's Andreas no doubt.

Nope. Peter is one of the most stubborn people I've ever seen, and he genuinely believes everything he says about gold and Bitcoin. There's no changing his mind. But some of his fans might be persuaded, so I'm glad to see the debate happening.

yeah everyone is excited to see the debate

I don't think so. Unless Anthony Pompliano can educate Schiff on his misunderstandings in the technology side of things.
