This is good to know esp if people are buying without knowing this part.

Is this also on their antminer website? thread? or no?

Or did you have to figure this out the hard way, after buying it etc.

Thanks.

It will reset ip address to factory default also.

You mean all settings and IP will be reset to factory?  If so, that`s great. Thanks =)

Yes.  The first thing you should change is the mining pool info.

This button will reset all settings? or only IP address?

LAN was off on miner settings and now there is no way to config it and start mining ( F*cking stupidity

Is this a actual push button or a pin of some sort?

I found the reset button it is between those two shorting points.

On the newer v 1.2 boards 12-4-13 it is labeled S2. It resets the ip of the machine to  192.168.1.99

Well shucks - I had 12-1-2013 Batch Miners, If you do too, there is a small reset button - just press it and you're good to go!  Now you know - it does a total hard reset on all settings, I see bitmains old info from the pool presets, so do be sure that you reconfigure your stuff when its ready.

Where is the reset button?   Smiley

I have tried the above instructions to no avail. Could it have been the paper clip I was using? I do not have a small enough gauge of wire to use, so I figured a paper clip would do the trick.

I'm wishing it was the newer version so it would have the button, but that's just my luck.

I assuming it goes year/month/day, and the miner has 2013/12/1, so I figured it would have the S2 button on the card, but it's no where to be found.

any other ideas?

The miner has 192.168.2.99 on the side of it, so should the IP be set to that in the IPv4 properties in Control Panel?

The current way I have it set up is:

IP: 192.168.2.99
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.2.1

I cannot seem to select the "Obtain DNS automatically" radio button, so I had to manually enter these after looking them up in control panel.

I've managed to place the LAN and the WAN on the same address,  and I can't access my miner.  Any advice/suggestions on how to reboot/restore the control card back to original default settings?

You will probably have to do a hard reset

Q:How to reset to the default state?
A: There is no reset button in the first batch of AntMiner. If AntMiner has to be reset, please follow these steps.
Step 1: Set your PC’s IP address as 192.168.2.x, and then connect AntMiner with your PC via a network cable.
Step2: Power on AntMiner for a while when it is inthe normal state. The WAN LED should be light.
Step3: With the miner still switched on use a piece of wire between the 2 points for more than 3 seconds. (see image below)

Note you do need to take you time as I found it difficult to access the points as the cables are in the way

The Antminer once reset will have a new ip address 192.168.2.99 instead of the default one on the label

Then access the miner via a browser 192.168.2.99 after a couple of minutes

Then start again with the setup

Good luck

I took this from the support thread...fixing the image soon  Saved img as jpeg in imgur...done  Cool

Alright, so I purchased an Antminer off of eBay recently, and while trying to set it up, the guy was Skyping with me along the way. When I was setting it up, he told me that he had changed the IP address from what was printed on the side to something else.

He told me that I needed to delete the LAN settings, and like an idiot, I didn't read the prompt saying that if you delete this, you will not be able to access this miner.

My question is this:

Is there a way to factory reset these miner back to default settings? I found something after a 4 hour google search, but my eye sight is so bad, I can see the tiny connections that need to be shorted in order to reset than LAN.

-or-

Does the ant miner go back to using the default IP address? I have tried using the default address, along with changing the subnet, default gateway, etc.

I'm really hoping I didn't just flush $3500 down the drain, and possibly one of you senior/hero members can help me out!

I'd really appreciate any response that someone could give me.
