I sent 1 of my A3s for repair to California repair center, it was only detecting 1 hashboard. Shipped it on April 16 and it was delivered next day. I am getting a unit back tomorrow per UPS, it took 11 days total. Not bad IMO.

What's really funny is how people were complaining that whenever they get any Bitmain gear it's used because it has some dust on it and they are upset. It however works as intended.

However when they send something out brand new they are probably short on staff and don't test each unit and send up sending defective units.

I really think they should at least test the units which are going out overseas. Huge waste of resources to get an Antminer to travel the world twice because they were too busy to test it out.

The same problem! Just received Antminer A3 and board number 2 is not working! Stop buying people that ASICs!! They are all seems to be defetive!

LOL... Says the guy who just bought an ASIC

There are bound to be defective units shipped out. no different than buying a Dell computer or a Graphics card. the fact these boards aren't flooded with people complaining about receiving defective units means that there are far more working units than defective units.
It could also be just a loose connector

I had this issue with a used unit and it just ended up being a rough connection to the IO board.  I actually swapped the connections around on the board and made sure they were tight and it worked 100% after that.
Just something to try.

Hi,

I've just received two Antminers A3 and I got the same problem with one miner, one Hash Board is not working. The Hash Board is completely faulty or dead, "xxxx"  "3   60   600   0.00   407   23   24   xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxx"
What it is more impressive, it is the question about pool, yes, after a firmware reset, if I change the pool, it appears the board with 0 GHs, with the pool siamining is showing a dead board, with other pools the board is not loading.
Anyway, I tried everything, change the USB cables, test the PSU, test each Hashboard separately and just this board alone is not working.

I've just created a repair ticket, could someone actually tell me how many days comes a new Hashboard for A3? Or any help?

Thanks in advance!

I got my 1st miner this week and now have a board that has gone into a 0 GH/s all x status also.

The miner ran fine for the first 36 hours and then I decided to switch pools and switched to siamining pool and then after it rebooted and switched pools the #3 board didn't seem to boot right and went into the 0 hashrate all x's status.

I wasn't able to disconnect it at the time as I was monitering it from another location and when I was finally able to go check on it and disconnect it I noticed it had gone into a flashing red light fault status and before I was able to disconnect it, the 30A circuit it was on tripped.  It's connected a 240v 30A PDU so not sure what the heck.  Seems like something in the miner faulted which caused the circuit to overload.

I'd monitor these close.  I'm kinda nervous to try and use it again even if I send the board back for repair.

I had a D3 running high 90's while the other units were in the low 70's (all same batch).  Bitmain support said to ignore the chip temps, just keep the PCB temp below 80, which my PCB were well below.

Personally don't like anything running above 80 as I believe it shortens their life. (but I am not an expert)

I'm having a similar problem.  I had my A3 running well for a few days, then I noticed one of my hash cards was not showing up in the mining page.

Screen shot of what I see: https://imgur.com/HVgZjMm

I tried unplugging all of the cards, swapping power cables, swapping data cables, and changing ports.  Nothing seemed to be able to get the 3rd hash card back on.  Any ideas of what else to try?

your temperature is 87? that is way too much btw!

1 failed board (DOA) for me.  Detects the board and chip temp, but shows no chips.
Tried a working controller port, reset to defaults, still no response from Bitmain (Holidays).

Given the Feb holiday's, won't be cost effective to send the unit back with all the competition from Bitmain.
Contemplating if it is even work sending the hash board back, given the price of postage and low price of the A3's and risk of opening,
Too many stories \ warnings never to send hash-boards back by themselves. (heatsyncs come off, damage pins).

Something doesn't seem quite right with the software, trying to init this board with a temp offset of -11??  Hopefully support respond and have an updated firmware.

If I look at the hash rate, it's even like the board occasionally comes on-line and hashes then goes offline.

I've seen people report high temps on these in several threads.

The power usage requirements for this miner and the fact it was totally new was among the reasons I didn't buy one and instead pre-ordered a 2nd obelisk.

I'm wondering if Bitmain rushed these out and didn't fully test them. If you look at SIA Diff charts, there was a hashrate spike in early December and these came out in January... I wonder if the bugs have been fully worked out.

I had the same thing happen, I had board #2 saying xxxxx then all 0000's.

I rebooted it and bam its gone, i reseated all the cables.
Took out the boards and nothing visbile is damanged or fallen off.

I even tried using a dedicated PSU for the board #2.

This is complete failure on their part, I recall seeing the temps reach 90c on board 2 and i was like wtf

Tried 3 different and 100% working APW3++. Low freq. makes no sense.

Then there is nothing to do but sending it back to bitmain.  Cry

Make sure to swap the cables of the hashing boards to make sure it's not a cable / controller board issue. Furthermore you can try to set the frequency to something really low pure as a test. I.e. set it to 200Mhz and see if it get's detected. If it does you can decide to run it at a slightly lower frequency instead of sending it back to bitmain (which will probably cost you more loss...)

Hello,

I just received my Antminer A3 and it seems I have 2 dead hash boards. They are showing 0 GH/s with "x" in the status page. I'm using the APW3++ power supply on 240V.

This is my first ASIC so I don't quite know what troubleshooting steps I should try. I have already sent a ticket to Bitmain support portal. Any ideas on what I can do?
