I'm the developer of the Dapp and a long time member. Main benefits of using the Dapp
- Much quicker and more convenient. Buyer can create the transaction, and seller sees incoming escrow transactions in the dashboard once it's mined, usually in a minute. Right now there's several back and forth with the escrow agent before we even start sending payment.
- Buyer can release funds in the Dapp to seller, without going through the escrow agent. Again convenience.
- It's much safer than traditional escrow where escrow agent holds the funds. With EscrowMyEther, the Ethereum smart contract locks buyer's funds. Escrow agent only has the ability to release funds to seller, or refund to buyer, and collects his fee once the transaction is complete. He can never touch buyer's funds and cannot steal it. Even if escrow agent lose his private keys, buyer can still release funds, seller can still refund buyer.

You can also use traditional btc escrow services, but the Dapp removes risk of escrow agent losing his private keys and stealing funds.

If a transaction proceeds smoothly, my intervention is not required throughout the escrow process and I probably won't get any feedback. Also because I'm new I don't have feedback yet. As the developer, I have the incentive to provide good and timely service as requested.
