^cheaper option than an actual switch is to go to value village or salvation army and see if they have and dlink WRT routers, as most can be set up to act as a switch and cost $5.

Hello All,

I just bought 2 S3's and I was looking for some advice setting up,

Basically I want to connect them both directly to my PC however I only Have one LAN slot (not I do not have access to the house Router)

Would it be possible to bring in a mini router to just run on LAN with 2 S3's and my PC?

Or even maybe would a LAN splitter function correctly?

Like one of these?

This worked great for me.

and a pack of these:

I decided to go wireless and added this soon after, which works well together.  But not the cheapest way to add wireless since you can get a single device to do both, but just in case you wanted to add wireless later this did work for me.

Yeah that's the plan, I think haha

Is your PC connected to router with Ethernet cable?

  http://m.ebay.com/itm/201216503973?nav=SEARCH

If so buy a Ethernet switch like this and plug your router cable into it and run one cable out to PC the 2 more one to each miner. I have a Dell 16 port I paid $20 off EBay and it works great.

Edit: the OP basically said the same ^^^^^
You can use Apple airport express, put it into your room, connect it wirelessly to the 'house" router, then connect your miner to it via ethernet cable.
If you have more than one miner, then connect a simple ethernet hub to express, then connect miners to the hub.
This setup works fine and you can access it wirelessly from PC or laptop..

So the hub would work fine direct to PC?

The Apple idea is good but my pc is wireless so there is only one ADSL/WAN connection in the house :/

unless a network bridge would work, but that would mean more KW usage due to needing the PC on at all times

you don't need PC to mine. Your miners will be connected to Express via etherneb hub (TP-link or netgear for example), express will communicate with your home wireless router. You only need PC to set up the connection and pools, then periodically "count" your BTC  Smiley
