9h59m15s  4,699.74  4,699.44, fan at 35%, temps under 60

It's batch 8! Phil can confirm this Wink

I'll test again and post a picture!

Also not every piece is the same...
With original Bitmain PSU (fan 40%) I measured from the wall 1385, 1396 and also 1429W
(S7 with 1429W consumption has a little bit more HW errors)

With EVGA 1300W Gold PSU aprox. 30W more

(all 230V, batch 8 - should be the same as batch 9)

tested b8 on ~230v with dps2000bb and fans on ~50% and i get 1300w!
i shit you not!

Interesting  I have not heard of others getting that good.   If you leave fan on auto does it go back to 1400?

I'm just curious if it's fan based or if you got one that somehow has better efficiency.

My fans are under that and i get 1415w at the wall with near Titanium level efficiency and PSU fan off. I very much doubt these numbers, unless the unit he has is not a typical B8 but a similar unit that has lower voltage at the chip.

1293W is the power drawn at 12V side.  +10% is added, when you calculate power drawn at wall, using Bitmain APW3-12-1600-B2 (effiency 93%) .
It's not that bad way to describe power usage.

It is 100 percent accurate you are right on that.   They mention a range and it hit's in that range.  It has taken a lot of flak though.

If they would have shown specs with 1400 and a much smaller percent, it would have made people happier.  In my batch 8 thread this was a hot topic at first as they did lose efficiency from earlier S7's in first bit of batch 8's shipping.

1293w + 10% is a fucking sleezy way to describe power usage. Just list the actual power draw, bitmain. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Did some testing today with the batch 9 s7's that i just got. was wondering if any one has the same results?

So currently I don't have the Bitmain psu's just yet so i'm powering them with (2) 1000watt EVGA SuperNOVA G2's 5 Cables in each.
So far all 6 miners are giving me the same results so at least the power draw is consistent across the board.

I tested these on 2 currents- 208volt and 120volt Got different results in Amp Draw though

On 208 Volt I'm Seeing a 7 amp power draw per miner- which puts the watts at around 1450watts

On 120 Volt I'm seeing a 12 Amp Power draw per miner- Which puts the watts a little bit lower at 1440watts

Now on Bitmains website they list it as 1293+10% well 10% of 1300 is 130 add those two together and you get 1430 Which is pretty close to what im seeing on the pdu's

Let me know what you guys have found out with your own gear!

Thanks, Keegan!

This is not new news on this.  Batch 8 was designed the same (besides io board).   They really do mean +10 percent.

Some of the earlier generations had more chips.  And they got better efficiency.  But b8 and b9 less chips and more freq = less power efficiency.
