...and they work great as a space heater - my R4B2 is in my bedroom keeping it a bit warmer and is quiet enough to sleep no problem.  My R4B4 is actually a bit louder (8.7THs vs 8THs) so it's going off to be hosted for now.

FIX THE LOUDNESS, FIX THE NOISE!
THE ONLY SOLUTION THAT ACTUALLY WORKED FOR ME.

JUST SAYING This made my ANTMiner QUITE!!

They are the same efficiency level as the S9 as they contain the same chips. Just a different amount of them, hence the Hashrate and power difference to the S9.

Thanks Phil.  Sounds like a few R4 may be they way to go to be safe on the noise side of things.  They seem pretty efficient still also, hash rate to electric use wise.

the new s9 would be loud  it may or may not be louder  as some whistle and some do not whistle.  The ones that whistle really suck.

The r4 uses about 800 watts and gives off 800 watts of heat.

the s9 uses about 1350 watts and gives off 1350 watts of heat

so 3 r4's = about 2 s9's  heat wise.

I am currently running two Antminer S5 units in an area taking advantage of the heat they give off. I am thinking about getting the S9 to actually be more efficient while getting some heat from it too, my only concern is the noise level of the new unit vs. that of two of the S5. Could anyone that has owned both S5 & S9 let me know how the noise level of (1) S9 unit would compare to (2) S5 units?  I obviously know the S9 has a lot more power & and is louder overall, but is it still louder that two of the S5 going at once next to each other?

Any recommendation on another route to go would be helpful also.  I know the Antminer R4 are quite, but do they give out decent heat as well?
