You can keep guessing or you can save yourself the trouble and post the kernel log, 99% of the time it will tell you exactly where the issue is, a fan loop like the one you described could be caused by many things, you have to get the clues from the kernel log.

If you decide to post the kernel log, please use the code tag.

I am betting on the fan.

Put braiins on an sd card and set the unit to use 1 fan and two hashboards.

I have a thread on how to do it.

How about the control board do you have an extra control board? Try to replace the control board if it still keeps rebooting.

If you don't have an extra control board or after restart it works then try to flash the control board through an SD card you can follow the guide from here S9 series (S9, S9i, S9j, S9 Hydro) Control Board Program Recovery

Then update here if the issue solve or not.

it's a defective fan and S9 are (or at least, were) known to have issues with it
If you look on the forum, you will surely find similar cases in which the fans are 'buggy'

Hi everyone!

I am new with antminers.
My Antminer S9 just stop mining, and is in a loop of fan start / stop , and never ends out that loop.

What can I do?

I did :
- Exchange between powers supply and issue remains.
- Exclude from power supply two of three cards, issue continues.
- Exclude all three cards from power supple, and turn on with the controller card. Issue still there.

What can I do to solve this? By now, I just have a lot of not working junk.

Thanks for helping in advance.   Roll Eyes
