have you tried adjusting the clockspeed?

try setting your clock to this  --set-device antminer:clock=x0781

same problem w/ the u2. I get hw errors even when not overclocking. It won't get up to 1.5ghs without overclocking. I'm pretty sure it's just crap-quality hardware. I'm having better luck with a gridseed. You might want to check those out, it's a lil better gh/s for the dollar They can do both sha256 and scrypt, which scrypt coins are a lot more profitable.

I decided to get into mining for a little bit of fun and speculation.

I ordered three Antminer U2s and got them this week.

I'm running Ubuntu, bfgminer, purchased this USB hub: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ELPSEVW/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (probably not the greatest in hindsight, but should be able to run at least three no problem)
and this fan: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003XN24GY/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So out of the first three I ordered, one was working great, 0.2% HW errors after about 18 hours, one not so great giving 12% HW error, and one 100% HW errors.

I sent the 100% HW error chip back and ordered two more.

I got my additional two today. One gives me 14% HW error, the other is giving me 70+%!

Am I just getting bad hardware, or is there some setup I'm missing? The chips run pretty cool, barely warm to the touch. I'm not overclocking.

Here is the command I'm using:
Code:
sudo bfgminer -S antminer:all -o http://btc.give-me-coins.com:3334 -O xxx -p xxx --icarus-options 115200:2:2

Any suggestions?
