I don't see why anyone would be interested in the Antminer U4 at the price BITMAIN is selling them.

Its almost impossible to make an ROI on those devices.

I think you mean U3.  U4 still does not exist it seems, or at least to my knowledge no press release of it.

But the reason is for lotto mining.  I have some U3's and compacs.  I  run them knowing chances are I will not get my money back.  But it is fun to do and does not cost a ton.

With all due respect notlist3d, you need to get out more if there is "life changing" firmware....  Wink

Hmmm maybe I oversold it Smiley.  But it is habit changing at the least lol.   I had 3 U3's running on windows I could count on every morning after waking up fixing 1 or more zombies.  And going to bed fixing 1 or more before going to bed.  And there were random ones through day.

Now I have my R1 from crazyguy and I dont touch them, it just keeps solo mining.  And beside them I have my compacs on a RPI.  So it's turned into lotto mining I don't have to touch for most part it just keeps going.

I would say very unlikely. The R1 Antrouter might be thought of an an entry level Miner, however we have only seen one small batch of those so even it's future is uncertain. They also have their hands pretty full with S7 shipments and revisions at the moment.

Last I heard CrazyGuy had both R1's and U3's in stock if your wanting them.   Make sure to select custom firmware when buying, the automatic fixing of zombies on UE3 is awesome.

That firmware changed my life for the easier, that is for sure.

I wouldn't know why, they already have products on the market. The U3 is unstable but just fine for everyday use.
Really, who wants another small base miner? No big company willing to throw out thousands for them. The S7 is doing just fine on the market.
TL;DR No, they just sold out and no more probably will be made.
