As others have pointed out, the Z9 batch 1 isn't sold out yet bitmain releasing batch 2 seems like a shrewd move.

I'm quite confident Bitmain has thought this out carefully and somehow will be making bank. My guess is August-September is a date they would have happily earned enough profits from their own private mining and are then willing to let go of the equipment to lessen the risks. Or they could know something else we don't know.
Or they are just wating to see if other equihash coins will fork by then because most of them are waiting for zcash sappling udpate that should happen in june,so potential fork to fight of asics might happen in august-september period-similar situation to cryptoknight

Up to 300% + 200 FS deposit bonuses
I have a feeling that right after they sell out a few batches, they will release a non-mini version which will definitely be a threat to the Equihash algo.

Most likely they are selling these publicly but mining with faster ones privately.

Pretty much exactly what is happening with their ETH asic.

Could also be the strict 1-unit rule they put in place early on in Batch 1.

I bought one when it was first listed.  Go ahead and call me a part of the problem; I don't care.  They were going to build and run it anyway even if I didn't buy.  My money to gamble.
...That aside, returning to the Z9-Mini product page again shows available but changes to Sold Out when I log in.

Will bump this again in August.

Agree this is a bad investment on batch 2 at the current time.

Lets see if that holds true.  Shocked

The fact that batch 1 hasn't sold out really scares me.

100m sols per 10,000 units sold

675m sols is the total NetHash for all equihash coins (78% ZEC)

How many have they sold... they are minis, so could be a lot more than a regular batch.

Yeah I'm wondering about that too.  Did it not sell out because nobody wants to buy after various fiascos with D3, X3 and so on?  Or did it not sell out because they are planning to dump an absolute crap load of them in batch 1?

We are not retail.
We still have available units for batch one still. August seems way to long to wait even at 1.5k directly from Bitmain but then they haven't sold out so maybe Aug is fine. Speculation is hot topic around here.

I GPU farm ZEC personally, so if you mine equihash coins I'd hold for pump and be ready to dump. We're seeing a spurt of pump already as the market has been uncharacteristically bullish the last couple days compared to other coins (watching Kraken tickers).

Be interesting to watch how he hash is spread and see what devs decide to do. ZEC though isn't going to fork till FY'19 so you can bet asics will at least have that haven for 6 months or more.

Bitcoin FTW!
The first batch isn't sold even out yet, and it's delivered in June instead of September like Batch 2. Makes absolutely no sense to buy any units from Batch 2 (especially since time is everything with miners) or even 1 considering the risk of forking is always looming on the horizon. Not worth the $500 discount IMO if you're looking at the Z9 right now.

The best thing is that they can announce 1000 batches get them sold and of course write that it’s not refundable and you will lose everything when algo forks - equhash coins . It’s so epic this is just like any scam coin out there
Well most of coins are waiting for asics to hit the market first so they can study them and see how to improve ways of fighting them, also if fork happens that will probably be at the end of the year as zec dev team is currently bussy with their sappling update
