Stock straight from bitmain:
https://file11.bitmain.com/shop-product/firmware/R3-LTC/Firmware/007201808101015013890pm00CdG0652/AntRouter-R3-LTC-SIA-DASH-20180815.bin

Custom firmware (also has a copy of the stock one): https://github.com/bitruss/antrouter-r1-firmware

These units were unreliable back when they were new. Other then just playing around with it don't count on it for much else being 6+ years old.

Hi in 2023,

does anybody still have the R1-LTC firmware ltc-r1-300M-20170421-1.bin available?
I want to reuse this item in pool mode but the current firmware AntRouter-R1-LTC-SIA-DASH-20180815.bin does only support solo mining.

Thanks
Ralf

I saved a copy of ltc-r1-300M-20170421-1.bin on GitHub.

Is this "processor-level" support?
Or "at the level" of the Operating System and the miner?
It has BM1485 chip which is used in Antminer L3+ also, and it can mine only scrypt-based cryptocurrencies. Simply put, it is built on the hardware level.

Good day!
Tell me if it is possible:
Try to run another miner on this device and try to mine another cryptocurrency?
If possible, tell me how to install it?
What cryptocurrency do you try to mine? It supports only scrypt-based altcoins.

Can I install another Miner, for example for Monero (or another AltCoin), change the pool and try mining?

P.S. Thanks in advance for any answer!

Here is the firmware. AntRouter-R1-LTC-SIA-DASH-20180815.bin
Miner >> R1-LTC Configuration >> solo  /// solo and emil and no more and more functions. I had to reflash to ltc-r1-300M-20170421-1.bin.
I see no reason to experiment, everything works quite well on native firmware.

The BM chips are connected via internal serial links, so you should be able to install any new variant of OpenWRT and re-use the original cgminer binaries from the stock firmware.

Thanks for the info! The first two firmwares on Bitmain's page are really old. The last one is new, but looks... "different." Like it was posted there as an afterthought. I was leery of trying it for that reason.

Meanwhile, the OpenWRT group produces new builds for the Antrouter platform constantly. Including the latest (18.06) trunk. This would presumably allow me to use the latest packages for things that aren't necessarily Antrouter-specific, like running routing protocols or other Linux-y things. If I decide to cross my fingers and take the chance to update, I'll report back. I was just hoping to hear some success stories from someone that's ahead of me on this journey :-)

You can flash them all to the latest firmware from bitmain they have 3 firmware for R1 you can check the list of firmware here https://service.bitmain.com/support/download?product=AntRouter%20R1

Then click the firmware tab under antminer R1 you can see all firmware for R1.

You can try this AntRouter-R1-LTC-SIA-DASH-20180815.bin because it's a 2018 firmware.

Hi everyone. I just picked up an R1-LTC Antrouter and am having fun playing around with it. The firmware that came stock on it is really old (based on OpenWRT Barrier_Breaker). There are newer OpenWRT trunks, even ones that support Antrouters specifically... but they only call out "R1" as the model number:

https://openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/bitmain/bitmain_antrouter_r1

I'd love to upgrade the firmware to something newer; Barrier Breaker is so old it's a challenge to upgrade/install newer packages. Has anyone on this board tried upgrading to a newer OpenWRT -- not something downloaded straight from Bitmain?
