I have made 2 purchases on cryptothrift and the service is pretty good. I recommend if you are buying steam games to hold the coin in escrow for a week after you received the code to make sure it wasn't bought with a stolen cc. Even after that it still has a chance to being fraud but the risk is lower i think,

Thanks Josh for the note and for the reference, "hilariousandco". Welcome aboard "karlb187".

We have automated escrow on the site, all sellers are forced to offer escrow at this stage and it's up to the buyers to decide whether they want to use escrow or not.

We always recommend you hold on to your escrow for at least a week if you've purchased a digital product. If the seller is genuine, they will have no issue waiting a week to receive their funds. Be aware of sellers asking you to release escrow before they can deliver.. We try our best to filter such sellers, but we also ask for the buyers' cooperation for their own good.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to ask. I'm not always online here, but I definitely will answer any questions sent via our support portal (usually within few hours).

What if a buyer receives the product and still does not release the escrow ? How do u determine who is honest, the buyer or the seller ?

If the buyer does not release escrow and the seller does not request it, the escrow gets released automatically after 30 days.

If we have a dispute from either the buyer or the seller, we action them on a case to case basis. There's no handbook as to how we determine who's at fault, it's virtually impossible.

Cryptothrift doesn't seem to have succeeded as well as Bitmit in attracting sellers, which makes it less interesting. Also it seems like there are some fraudulent sellers with lots of fake feedback. You need to be careful and check if it seems genuine and what it says, not just how many positive reviews they've got. For instance, if they sell gift cards and several reviews say the first codes they got were invalid it's an indication they may have used stolen credit cards to buy them.

Yes, it has a built in escrow service. I recommend it.

that galaxy s3 on the site is a pretty good bargain. brand new for $200, wtf m8? you can't get one for that price on craigslist or ebay..

Like ebay, that listing may or may not be legitmate. Check the sellers feedback. No other sales yet so be careful and use your own judgement on these things, but as long as you don't release the escrow you should be fine.

I've gotten a few good deals on cryptothrift. You'd think with the escrow it would be way more popular than it currently is.

It could be that maybe people think the escrow is automatically released or something. I think the system is great but before I completed my first sale I was a bit confused as to how it was all going to go. Once I understood that I have the release escrow button it made me feel alot more secure about another purchase.
