It would be nice if someone could create an adapter to take the 5v line and a ground from a 4 pin molex on an ATX power supply and output it into a barrel connector for some of these USB hubs. Many quality power supplies, such as the rosewill capstone 450w ($60), supply at least 20 amps worth of 5v. Pretty much all AC to DC adapters that come bundled with these usb hubs supply, at MOST, 2 amps @ 5v, and are very inefficient.

Are you using cgminer? Version 3.2.1 has a problem with usb 3.0 hubs. I use a regular usb 2.0 hub with cgminer 3.2.1 and all is working fine.

Have you tried an other powered hub? try one which is proven by others.

I would guess it's the hub most likely.
