Technologically we are getting to a stage now where any form of sexual deviance, societal deviance and the criminal mindset can be observed via brain scans..and other supporting research and data.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5711964/IF we can observe such societal deviance should we enforce ways in which to rehabilitate members of society who we feel suffer from such conditions.
My only problem is with this is the problem that until a crime is committed, until a person has made that decision to act upon their sexual degenerate desires aren't we just being as bad as Orwells thought police?
For Example: -
"Pedophilia is a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children."
- the definition here means that they are attracted to children, they have yet to commit; or act upon their sexual indulgences.. how should society see fit to deal with these people when they have yet to make the conscious decision to act upon their impulses.. the definition clearly states they are already 'pedophiles'
Some sexual lifestyle choices today used to be defined as a mental illness back in 1973, and its proven that LGBT people are more prone to mental illness than heterosexual counterparts, Should we imply from these findings that these people should also have their behaviour and actions questionably monitored?
I think in the distant future we will be able
IF society chooses it to have a conscious hive mind which will allow for us all to see each others personalities shared amongst our peers, it will be a pre-warning for mental illnesses, sexual deviancy and criminal behaviour.. will this be a good thing? will it shape society for the better..?
