Alright, I know some people at school that are selling their "gaming" pcs so im gonna see if they will just let me buy their card. Im also prob gonna load up a newegg item sniper I have and run it while im at school to see if it can get anything I have it configured to.

Newegg twitter shuffle is about the only way to get a card near list from Newegg.  Enter M-F to try to win the option to buy at list.

Hey guys!

Im looking for suggestions for cards that are good for their price for mining ETH. Im looking for good price to output efficiency so that I can invest some of my money into a rig and crank some coins while im at school, suggestions?

All GPU's are now priced by retailers relative to the hash rate they generate they want a slice of the action maybe they should find a corner of the warehouse and dedicate it as mining area or named "GPU performance testing zone"

Back to the question, your asking for free money when you ask for cheap GPU deals so its very unlikely you will find them and if you do be careful because gifts like that..... For those who pay domestic electric rates ROI is currently 10 months and may go up or down as the price of the market fluctuates. For me i can do better as i use my rig to heat the house so can get that ROI down a few months with that saving but also bear in mind the switch to ETH2 looms however I anticipate miners will switch to other alts and therefore ETC may have a post ETH2 mega pump... but i dont know much at all this is just wind and its up to you to decide when to raise your sail.

the 1080ti evga or mis/corsair hybrid don’t run hot.

In many ways the best card ever made.

we had 28 of them they are closing in on four years old.

We sold off 24 of them to switch to amd 5000 amd 6000 and evga 3000 cards.

every one of those cards still work. used 24/7/1200+ at 165 watts

that is 28 x1200 days or 33600 days not hours of working without fail.

we dust out the radiators once in a while and the radiator fans have had some three maybe four replaced.

they go for 700 or more on ebay. I would sell for less.

these are what the op are looking for. if sold for 600 they earn

3 a day.

so 600/3= 200 days. i am assuming op has cheap power they burn 4kwatts a day if op power is 10 sents the cost to run is 40 cents.

so in 200 days he earns 600  -80 for power he would be at 520 paid back.

roi moves to 235 days not 200

It is an interesting fact with the Gtx 1080 ti that some of you may know but some maybe don't.I run one of them and it is said to be doing 45 Mhsh,to me it does near 43 Mhsh in Ethereum mining but once I tried for fun the Ethereum Classic it did exactly 50.9 Mhsh which you can compare it with the Rtx 3060 non LHR,Rx 5700 Xt does just a bit more at 54 Mhsh so the fun fact about this card is that despite being of old generation it is well up to the fight with bigger and newer cards, this I think is the best card Nvidia has produced considering launch time of the card.
https://minerstat.com/dag-size-calculator
The larger the DAG file size, the lower the hashrate of the Nvidia 1000 series video cards.
At 1070Ti, the decrease in hash rate is not so noticeable.
The gtx 1080 ti is very old and consumes a lot of power. These cards are very hot.
It is very risky to buy them now.

They are not that hot,I have one with 2 fans EVGA for the win and it runs at 60 degree Celsius max in a very hot temperature with fans at 82%,the ones with three fans runs even lower. The dag size I don't see any impact here as the card is 11 GB so there is quite some time for any Ethash dag to grow near. The power consumption at 70% power limit and it does 50 Mhsh in Ethereum Classic or 43 Mhsh in Ethereum which is not bad for the time we are in now.Consumption is 165 watt which I consider average and not that bad for the hash rate it gives, sure it can't compete with newer 3000 series from Nvidia but it surely can compete with that Rx 6700 xt which does just 47 Mhsh at 120 Watt which has no big difference in hash rate just in electricity a bit more.

Maybe he will offer you something.
You will definitely not be deceived.

I myself am looking for such offers, so I constantly look at various markets where the user is trading used computer hardware. I do not look at shops, in my country prices are like fire.

Occasionally I dump a card at a good price.

@ op I have 4 1080ti hybrid cards.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/194196813622?

they are working I would beat eBay buy it now prices.

An old graphics card GTX 1060 is enough for me for computer games. If you are playing on a 32-inch monitor with a resolution of 4-8K, then you may need a top-end video card. For the usual 2K resolution, old video cards are relevant.
rx vega 56 is now one of the best GPUs for Ethereum mining.

rtx 3060 ti for sure, if you can find one on this very moment  Grin, or buying defect rtx 3060 laptop, is good deal

or used gpus when you can get cheap anyway, rx vega 56 maybe cheap at some point, that gpu bad on gaming and cannot use ray tracing feature on newer game

How is Vega 56 bad for gaming? Yes it doesn't support ray tracing but it's damn good for gaming than rx580, I have these cards and I've used them to run few new and old games on PC
I like vegas too i call them beast.

I am talking about the non LHR version of the card for RTX 3080.I know that there are two versions of this card one non LHR and one LHR.However even the LHR card can make you like near 150 dollars a month in profit with today values by mining Ravencoin or other algorithms that are different to the algorithm Ethash which Ethereum and Ethereum Classic are using. The LHR card is limited in Ethash algorithm.

If you want to start big I always suggest starting with a RTX 3080 as a single card like this can make you like near 200 dollars profit with today prices, prices of a such card is really high now but if you want to start aggressively this is the way to go.You can add another card after some time have passed.

Aren't these LHR though?

If you have free electricity you will safe more money on ASIC miners like T2 which can earn you 6$ per day and it costs around 600$ each, this ASIC miner takes 1500watt from wall that's why I said free electricity is a must, ROI will be insanely faster

Your best bet is to go on Facebook marketplace and Craiglist/Kijiji and set alerts for "RX 470/480/570/580" GPUs. Sometimes somebody will list some for like $100 because they don't know what its worth or just want to get rid of it ASAP. But you will need to pick these up right away because most likely every hour or so somebody else will contact that person and want to buy it also.

Generally if you don't pick it up right away they will sell to somebody else. Basically "First to pickup". Or some people are even more sneaky and they just remove the listing, say it sold, and relist it at a mark up. However if you tell them you are on the way, generally they will sell it to you at the posted price. I had one guy who was like "Dude, can you pay more because I got tons of people messanging me and they can offer me more money". I told them I can't afford anymore and I am outside their place and they usually will feel bad for you and sell it at the posted price. Its tough out there.

Now that the price of Ethereum is high the price of the video cards are also really high so it is not the best time to be investing. However if you want to start small start with a Rx 480/580 8GB card and this will do you like a 50 dollars or a bit more net profit in a month,if you build with 6 such cards you can go up to 300 or more dollars per month. The price is the cheapest for a card now being about 400 EUR-500 EUR and you can start simple with just a video card and then add as you see fit based on your budget.

If you want to start big I always suggest starting with a RTX 3080 as a single card like this can make you like near 200 dollars profit with today prices, prices of a such card is really high now but if you want to start aggressively this is the way to go.You can add another card after some time have passed.
