No, Upwork doesn't accept any crypto. On the top of that, I really advise you to not try to redirect the person outside the site. Or you will get banned from Upwork and perhaps the freelancer too as well. Most refuse for this reason, they're not going to risk their account just because someone wants to make a deal outside .

Agreed and I raised the question in their top rated forum discussion last year that they should try to add crypto payment as an option for freelancer and clients. Ironically most fellow freelancers were against it.

After that, I tried a different approach with my upwork's clients or any other client. after working with them for some time and building a good working relationship. I always slip the idea of Crypto payment casually. ( avoid upwork's chat) A couple of time gave a discount as well. Most of the clients said no because they were not comfortable, but I got lucky with a couple of clients.

There are crypto-focused platforms but I can't say they're good 'cause most I've seen are either empty or has a serious problem of inactive users. I'm not saying you shouldn't use them just not rely on them too much, best course would be to use it and the general type.

Also, can you elaborate what do you mean by "narrow selection of professionals for cryptocurrency only?" 'cause most sites has some filters you could toggle which should help you.

There are many crypto developers on Upwork that you can hire but the payment is not crypto but I think you can contact the developer to request that you want to pay crypto instead.

Is it really possible to contact the seller and tell that you want to pay with crypto? Upwork doesn't allow this....
As far I know the buyer will get ban for sure, and if the seller responds and takes payments outside of upwork then it will lead to his/her account ban also.

There is also this one xbtfreelancer.com

There are no quality freelancers in xbtfreelancer.com
I tried many times but always failed to get a quality freelancer.

Though I find xbtfreelancer very useful to use as an escrow if the deal was made outside and later moved at xbtfreelancer.

I think bitcointalk isn't a great place to find developers, not because they aren't here but they will rarely find you. I'll just post another freelancer website which accepts crypto and possibly it can lead you to find good crypto developer: xbtfreelancer.com
I would go on Envato (themeforest, codecanyon) and search great developers to contact them and have a deal.
I totally disagree with you on this because Bitcointalk has some very good developers working on it. After all it is the best crypto forum in the world. I agree there are some scams happening here even in the services section but as if a person deals as per my advice written in the post about dealing with a trusted or at least higher ranked account would solve this problem.

Metawin.com - Truly the best casino ever
I would just suggest you to use Bitcointalk, the no.1 crypto forum in the world  Grin you can get very skilled developers in the services section on Bitcointalk itself.

What you have to do is just create a similar thread by specifying your requirements. You would eventually get some good developer interested to work for crypto here.

As you are new here just a security warning, try to deal with someone reputed here or at least a higher ranked account.

Hire Bitcointalk Camp. Manager @ r7promotions.com
~snip~
However, if you are looking for a safety deal and find a real developer I suggest you use Upwork.

Do Upwork have a Bitcoin option. I never checked them by the way.

I find ethlance not so friendly for those who is just looking for people yet as you may have to pay. You will have to install that metamask, put some funds and send ETH everytime you do something inside the platform. You'd rather be looking in upwork as you are not going to pay yet when looking for individuals who will fit for the job you want.

Or you can hire developers from here on the forum just make a new post in the services section from here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0

So I'm pretty much look for people of cryptocurrency. Something crypto specific and not the likes of LinkedIn...

Is there any website where I can have a more narrow selection of professionals for cryptocurrency only?
