Hello All -

I am wondering if anybody has had a breakthrough in getting remedy for the Cryptopia hack?  I did not even get an email, like many of you, but I am not going to slow down in my pursuit of this issue.

I created this Telegram channel for any who wish to join me as we work together to get some sort of remedy. http://www.t.me/CryptopiaRemedy

What kind of remedy could we possibly think of right now?

I'm afraid at this point in time, we, the ordinary users who's got funds stuck in there, can do nothing but wait for further developments. It's more than 2 years now and it seems we're still far from seeing the light at the end of this tunnel. I just hope this won't end up as an example that justice delayed is indeed justice denied.

Anyway, if you haven't received an email, I think you can proceed to https://portal.cryptopia.co.nz/ and create an account. That's a necessary step for your claim.

Just to add up the more updated one

https://www.grantthornton.co.nz/update-to-cryptopia-claimants-and-stakeholders/

Dont expect that you would get your funds though because its been a long time about this Cryptopia issue.

so sad for that Sad that my doge was for me huge amount Sad
Yeah, sorry to hear that but you should take this as a lesson learned that never ever store up your coins on an exchange because you wouldnt know on when these platforms would be closes up their doors

neither on voluntarily exit or made out some obvious exit scam which had been a common scenario into this market thats why we should really be careful. Have you already followed on whats asked
when you are a claimant?

It might not give up some guarantee but who knows if one day they would be releasing off those locked funds but dont hope that much.

10K doge is a lot of money by now.  There isn't anyone that I've read on their thread that actually got their money back. Like OP I also have some WAVES that was in the sell order so it must be more difficult to retrieve them. They did provide that claiming portal last year but nothing had been done after that.

Just forget about it. Even if they manage to win against lawsuit. Its not guarantee that they will pay all user asset 100% considering how many asset they lose from multiple hacking. They are already bankrupt and there is no way they will cover loss from there own pocket.

Even closed they manage to be hacked again, like 2 months ago. If it continues there will be nothing left for Cryptopia's users... Cheesy

This bothered me. I'm not saying I'm still counting on this whole liquidation process, but if an exchange is already put under liquidation and the funds in no less than its cold wallet are still being attacked, what hope is there left for the users? This is getting more and more ridiculous.

Anyway, OP, if you haven't received an email from the address mentioned by LeGaulois, try looking for it under spam. This was probably sent en masse to the claimants late last year. If there is none, you may proceed to https://portal.cryptopia.co.nz/ and try creating an account there. You need to register so that you will be able to lodge your claim, or else you might lose your chance to recover your funds. You may also try reaching out to https://cryptopia.zendesk.com/hc/en-us for further questions and clarifications.

Around December you surely have received an email from [email protected] to join the Cryptopia claims portal.
To verify you are the real person under the account you have a list of questions

Notice this sentence:

Quote
As no detailed reconciliation process between the customer database and the cryptocurrencies held in the exchanges' wallets has been undertaken, we cannot confirm that the account balances will be correct."

I can still remember that this is a New Zealand-based cryptocurrency exchange that got folded months ago. I think the people behind this exchange are following the bankruptcy law as promulgated and enforced in New Zealand, so they can just get away from their responsibilities though of course words are easily said than done. I am sure that they must have emailed you regarding the situation on how to claim your coins or tokens, and you must follow the strict KYC procedures. The Cryptopia fiasco is another reminder to all of us to select only the best and the most solid players in the business of crypto exchanges and trading.

They had a lawsuit and AFAIK they allow for coin claiming since the end of 2020. Go over at their website where you can see the latest updates.. if you had an account over there, it might also help to check out your emails from them.

Keep in mind, this process of claiming requires very rigurous KYC procedures.
