OP labeling himself as an 'old timer' might not be fond of IP laws, patents and whatnot. But he should have already known what you've just said — ideas themselves are usually cheap enough to be near worthless.

I think he meant if there are old timers around here to seek advice from, not himself as one.

If you are worried about people stealing your ideas—don't be.

Ideas are a dime a dozen, it's the execution that really matters. If you don't have the ability to execute it yourself, or lack the interpersonal skills to bring together to team to it brought to fruition, then the idea was never worth anything in the first place.

If you genuinely believe your idea is a game-changer, then get it patented. If you can't get the patented, then it wasn't sufficiently novel anyway.

Then only tell that idea to the people that might help you personally with that idea. You need the right person but don't be wrong sharing the idea because others might steal it quickly.

The suggestion of talking to your closest friend first might your option but if they don't see the potential of it because they are not even in crypto then asking or telling it to the reputable people here might do.

So I have an idea that I believe will bring both large businesses and people to bitcoin and crypto.   How does one discuss such a thing with out loosing said idea?
Do you mind on giving out some few words of that amazing idea of yours? So you do basically looking for old timers that had lots of bitcoins to invest on.

Just what others said if you do see this idea is different from others then get it patented and the rest will follow if this one would be worth.

Getting investors to this forum? Im sure you wont get one. Cheesy

You can PM me with your idea, and I will tell you honestly if it will fly.

I will not share your words with anyone else.

first start by discussing your idea with someone whom you trust such as a friend or even a family member. let them tell you whether the idea is even worth it or not. in my experience most of the ideas people come up with nowadays is either tested already by dozens of others or is pretty bad.

then if you made the conclusion that is any good you can what you want to do with it later. you could ask experts then and bother with an NDA. if it requires hiring people (like for running the business or create the product from that idea) then you have a much easier time with the NDA and finding people.

If the idea is really a valuable one, you get an NDA, a good contract, and you talk to people who you are willing to pay good money to in order to help your idea to come to fruition.

Don't expect anything more than vague promises if you aren't willing to do those things. Needless to say, if you aren't willing to spend a lot of money on whatever your idea is, then it probably is not an amazing one to begin with.
