I'm assuming that you know you can't host your wallet with btcd and you can only run a Bitcoin full node there.

Yes, I know. But I ended not running it because it does not support pruning. My spare computer only has a 40gb hard drive. Haha.

I will buy a new hard drive maybe after the holidays. Cool

I'm assuming that you know you can't host your wallet with btcd and you can only run a Bitcoin full node there. I've played around with this earlier today and the installation is pretty easy and the documentation provided in the github repo is pretty in depth. The Blockchain download however seems to be taking much longer compared to my other node that is running on Bitcoin core. I would be interested in running some diagnostics and comparing the two speeds. Btcd obviously has the advantage of keeping your wallet separate to your full node which in my opinion is always a good idea for security reasons. But I can't really see any other advantages currently.

Has anyone tried running btcd? I want to run one, https://github.com/btcsuite

No reason why, except that I have a spare computer available, plus I have nothing to do this weekend. A perfect setting to spend some time tinkering.
