Here is another one.
Blind Guardian, Rhapsody of Fire and DragonForce are the ones that I listen everyday.

Awesome examples, anyway, the reason I was asking is because I play in a symphonic power metal band that just released our first professionally recorded album, and as a supporter of bitcoin and it's community I would like to announce that I will be accepting btc as a form of payment. Our website is http://eternalwinter.com and a preview of the album can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbsjlutFbr0 If anyone is interested in purchasing with btc just pm me, price will be about .02 + shipping.

it just means music that is played really really fast, with no desire for melodies, etc..

no melodies? they do have melodies, it's often rather that it's almost too much and cheesy for my taste https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2l8KtdQ7Ek

Yeah, I've just seen Epica and Symphony X in concert, it was awesome Cheesy

Those aren't really power metal bands though. More just progressive metal and symphonic metal but I guess they have some power influence. I'm not a big fan of Power Metal, but I like those two bands.

I guess I have to say no since the only bands that seem to qualify are from the days of an old fucker like me (Dio, Priest).
Although I am a little confused as to why King Diamond (apparently) IS considered PM but Mercyful Fate is NOT.

For my money nobody ever has or will do it better than Slayer! but wtf do I know I'm 43 years old...lol

metal yes, power metal no

some blind guardian perhaps, but that's it

prefer darker and/or more progressive stuff, opeth etc, and/or more alternative, post-rock/-metal stuff
