Running an ICO in India is illegal and not permitted in India so we cant expect a join an Indian ico

And who said that, except you? It "can" be illegal "in future" to run an ICO in India, but till now, it is not, and only not permitted to use it for illegal activities.

We are launching our ICO here in India. We have been trying really hard to get this project going, currently Indian ecosystem is very challenging, regulatory and general sentiments of folks towards cryptocurrency space, but we are taking those as an opportunities. There are lot of scams out there in the name of promised profit (which no one can guarantee) to exploit the gullible Indian audience, and most of them no nothing about technology. We are trying to be fully transparent with our audience. Please do visit our website and checkout all our materials, and if you folks feel there is any gap, do let us know and we will improve. Bitcointalk is the community, which is really great at segregating real ones from scammers.

To start one now is illegal (GOVERNMENT POINT OF VIEW)

Let's say they are after an Indian ico,
first step -they get hold of the team and interrogate.
the second step- they would say I received mangos for selling my bananas to start my fruit shop.
//you don't consider bitcoin as a legal tender and if I am accepting it from somebody i am doing scam ? is it ?//

until the day you are not liquidating it to fiat,  you havent done anything wrong in this country.( though its not wrong and illegal in any way)

But because of the centralized political system which we have in our country, the regulations are very close and to benefit the big players before they enter the market
media is manipulating with great FUD .
AND THISJUST means REGULATIONS ON THE DOAR.

people forget that this is blockchain - it's a technology which would never run away.

Indicoin shall redefine social service and give it another leap. Blockchain has unlocked a huge potential for the Social Sector to redefine their model and India is the rightest place to start and a very much needed crowdfunding of Social Service. Today, people are running back after making hefty monetary gains at the cost of the society, environment and various other incentivizing factors in accordance with this, they should also change the way social service functions. Indicoin shall be able to deliver on these lines

thankyou so much we are just focussing on the technology

I think there is an ICO called 4NEW thats probably Indian but it seems like a ride and die sort of deal. I have seen many many scams with indian faces on them too. There was this RupeeZ or something like that,  i posted on their thread, questioned them about the legality of this and they straight away deleted my post.

Understanding the Indian government perspective and their dealing till now it will not be easy in India to regulate or make it legal. They have also cleared that it cannot be a legal tender.  Also they have issue cautious warning that do not deal with it. This all seems that govt is not in favor.

As far as I know, ICOs cannot legally be started in India.

True, but neither is it illegal to start one as of now.

There are laws consideing it money laundering and ponzi schemes.

Only if the person converts that raised money into fiat.

The government is technically clueless about bitcoin and its strength at the moment. It could be get better for us or also WORSE.

Really true, but there are some who fancies blockchain technology, while not supporting the currency.

state of ICO's in India are in shady conditions, now as a government are in after ICO's after profiling of the current exchanges in the county overall, not an issue -things before regulations are similar all over the world

Indeed. But right now anyone can run an ICO in India. What follows is unexpected. And many out there are raising money just with whitepaper, thus without an MVP, they will have a hard time transferring it to fiat, if they intend to do so.

I think ICOs in India can fair well easily, there is a lot of potential in launching them as people here are constantly looking into generating money through cryptos. There is a whole lot of opportunity but only time can tell how this oppurtunity gets cashed.

To be honest I feel what indicoin has done for the Indian Bitcoin and blockchain community is uncomparable as they have prepared grounds by introducing the concept  for all the upcoming ico's in India after as you can see in this thread it self

What kind of concept are you talking about? Charity?

There is nothing new in that project and all they done with this blockchain technology is made a contract using ETH to receive it. All the rest is done through manual works.

jes thats how financial systems in governments work, a small core has the power makes token printed paper or minted coins out of nothing and everybody else has to beg fight for those token through his life,

states dont work without their financial cartells.

secondly why are you asking a cryptocurrency project for their registration details when you have clear idea about a legal structure of cryptocurrency as they have no boundaries and even India has no regulation and laws currently , either you should ask about the developement how far has the development phase reached.

Because they said that themselves that they have already registered as a Non Profit Organization, and I simply asked the details of the same.

And what shall I ask them about their development, as there is no development at all. They are a charity and there is no use of Blockchain technology at all in there. They just raised money which they will probably use for charity purpose, and for their own use. Don't tell me the bullshit that they are doing this only for charity purpose, as they won't, we are humans and we require money to live, as simple as that.

I don't have a problem with charity, but there was no use of this technology in this project. They just needed money for the charity and as people are profit hungry, they jumped into this opportunity.

I think I should rename this thread from "Any Real ICO in India?" to "Please Spam about Indicoin" thread.

You can't call this spam after seeing the flood of "Wow, Great project Sir. I see lot of potential. It will be great successful. Good Luck!!"

To your original question, I don't know why nobody mentioned ALLOY ICO. They are an India based startup and are planning an ICO as they migrate to blockchain.

I am calling this a spam, because the question I have asked and the answers given by the users are not relevant and just plane and simple spamming of that project.

Till now, I have heard about some, but none are fully complaint (in future, incase government approves cryptocurrency)

BitIndia - They are doing ICO in Japan

Indicoin - They are still not a registered business anywhere. Also, when asked to one of the founders, they said, they are not going to convert the raised money to fiat to be compliant.

All the other coins don't have a fancy marketing or a guy backing it.

So, is there any other ICO which is good enough and came from India?

If yes, how are they protecting themselves to take investment internationally (except from countries like US, China, etc)

i am creating an ICO (ISO to be more precise) with an Indian Exchange student, i myself am not an indian

Indicoin recently launched their Pre-Sale on the Midnight of 10th September 2017, going live as “India’s First Cryptocurrency & Token Sale” Community Admin & Lead Developer from Indicoin mentioned that they were skeptical about the Pre-Sale as India comes very new to Cryptocurrency and only 0.5% of the population in India invests in Bitcoin.

I invested in Indicoin's ICO. Its  is the 1st ICO here in India I think, things look normal .

1. This is not Indicoin topic, you can discuss that in Indicoin thread.

2. Indicoin says they are registered as NPO, but they have not shared any details regarding the same as of 29 Oct 2017 (I asked about registration on 24th Oct 2017)

My main intent with this thread is:

We have registered ourselves as a non-profit over here in India, you must have read our previous answers. We have been honest towards the community each and every time. Also, we respect the sentiments of the community and now we are registered under a non-profit organization. We are not converting just to be compliant till the laws and acts come into the existence. Also, everything is going on as per the roadmap proposed.

So, where is your non profit registered? And under what type of Activity?
Because we don't have current specific rules, acts or laws for cryptocurrency specifically. So to be compliant we are not liquidating to operate in India for the same , We have registered Indicoin under UP NPO Act for other activities and campaigns.
I think you missed this.

Can you please share some details of the company registered address? The identification number for the NPO? There seems to be no details at all in the site regarding the same.

I did not have any idea that India had these ICO. So what these projects all about and can you link the announcement page for these tokens and who are behind these projects, since there are more tokens coming out on a daily basis it is really hard to track everything and since this forum does not have good features to search it is really difficult to find any particular project.
For more details about Indicoin, visit our website at www.indicoin.org.in

Currently there isn't any,our country still not approve virtual currency in our economy.i think Andra Pradesh is taking initiative towards blockchain technology so it is good to see a small step.in future we will see majority of upcoming blockchain projects by indians as soon blockchain spread across IT sector in our country.

It will be great to see some with real products rather than just whitepapers.

BitIndia just looks fancy and will probably lead to a loss for investors but they do have a good marketing team. Too complicated Token Value in ICO smells fishy too. And 25% of Global Trading from India in the year 2022+ is something taken out of thin air to trap gullible investors in my opinion.

I totally agree with you. And with a big face representing them, it mainly means closed door deals for them and loses for investors.

It will be interesting to see how does India treat ICO. I do not think considering the government and their laws they will allow ICO to run in India. They will put a ban because there is a direct risk of the money invested by the people and they cannot let it happen. So all those running ICO in India if any will face the heat in coming times it seems.
