There's so many of them, maybe the community could recommend the most simple/best one I should go by?

Thank you in advance!
monitor 18.5" 55$
cpu intel g4400 40$
motherboard gigabyte fintech b250 12pcie(just in case adding more gpus in future) 90$
ram 8gb ddr4 2400 30$
ssd 120gb 50$
psu antec high current pro 1000/1300w 250$
pcie riser 009s 5$
new gpus wait for rtx3060 280$ or 2nd vega 56(reference card) good choice for 250$

miner for amd use teamredminer
for nvidia  Grin lot of them already good miner

OP, this is quite a good one if you want to start, the problem with building a mining rig right now is getting the GPUs at reasonable price. In my opinion you should try to secure the GPUs first then you can buy the other part. I don't know the situation in your location, but in my country 3060ti already cost almost $1000 (about $800-850) and i can't even find amd counterpart everywhere. Also don't forget to look up how to set up multiple GPU, how to wire the cable correcly etc (never use sata to power the riser).

my 2 cents

Make two of them.

a sub 1000 $ with at least one nvidia (1060 6GB) and one amd ( rx 470 8 gb) card and mobo used, windows
and the good one with the rest

For the good one: no more than 6 card, use simplemining, the best card value/ hash if you are able to find them, are the 3060ti.
The boxes need to remain intact as well as the bios in case you will decide to stop mining it will be easier to sell them , a 1.3 kw PSU with plenti of 8 connector ( at least 12 PCI 6+2)

With the first rig you will be able to learn software and also try  the different strategy. For example you know that today with one single rx 580 I was mining ERGO more profitable than eth ?

The good one hopefully will teach you to make calculation, understand roi, understand that few MHs make the difference and few degrees on the memories may break the cards etc and that 24/7 mining its boring but its profitable ( at Least now)
oh, and don't forget that in some countries you are supposed to pay taxes on the revenues...

This is a very good approach.  Make one good, stable rig which produces daily income and then one test rig to experiment with software and gear.   With a test rig you can cheap out on parts, even use a 450 Watt bronze PSU for 20 bucks

I don't know which country you are from but I build my own rig for nothing less than 2000 dollars, here is what I have in my mining rig, I buy 4x pieces of RX580 8gb 1800$ and spend the rest on complete desktop with five pcie slots, I already have power supply of 850 watts laying around before and I already have a monitor in my basement, you can get more cards if you go for used gpus but I prefer new cards for longer life span
Pray that crypto remains profitable in the next five months, you would have recover your invested money at that point in time if you are mining 24 hours every day, if Mining becomes less profitable it will only makes the return of investment gets longer

No.1 most expensive part will be the GPUs.  So take your time choosing.  I would go with either RX 5600XT or 5700(XT) from AMD
or 3060TI / 3080 from the nVidia side.
No.2 is PSU.  Buy 2x 750/ 850Watt PSUs instead of one single 1600W PSU.   These things are expensive.

There are a lot of dedicated mining mobos to choose from.  Or get an ASUS Prime mobo that has 6 pcie slots.
You can get Z270-Ps second hand.
Then there is a whole industry doing mining frames for GPU rigs.  You could get a Veddha or a Banggood.  Or design or build your own.   Your choice.
You need risers.  Any from version 006S and up are good.
Generally, prices have gone up a lot due to the all coin new moon season.  Even 2nd hand parts.

RX580 8gb= 450$ Cry  it is a pain
I never would have thought that these video cards would cost so much

yes, that's too much. Almost all GPU's price is overrated except non-mining cards. I buy some rx580 almost same price. Just because of the high ROI from mining. Gamers hate crypto and mining, they can't find solid GPU's in regular price because of that.

new gpus wait for rtx3060 280$ or 2nd vega 56(reference card) good choice for 250$

I am not sure where are you from, but I don't think that is possible to buy new 3060 for $280.

You can get a 4-5 GPU rig with 30xx. If you dont plan to buy later GPUs one by one - you can buy Gigabyte 970DS3P and used AMD X2 CPU for $5. In such a way you can get rig with 3-4 RTX3080 and later buy 1-2 same GPU.
If you want only 6GPU rig - the cheapest 6 PCI-e motherboard, the cheapest CPU, 4GB memory, 60GB SSD, and any GPUs RTX30xx you can get. Maybe except 3090.

I started my first mining rigs with just 4 graphic cards, I think it all depends on your budget, also consider some powered riser if you plan on building from scratch yourself, I spent complete 2000$ to build the rig, with motherboard and other parts

There are some people who build their rigs in 2018 January when altcoin season was a thing but in weeks later bears took over and guess what? They have already make 3x of their ROI by now, if you keep mining good altcoins and hold them you would make gains anyways, those who shut down their miners because they are less profitable years ago don't know what they are doing

For the first farm, I would recommend using no more than 5 video cards.
The cheapest and most reliable solution looks like this:
5 GPU:     Gigabyte 970DS3P, x2 CPU amd athlon, 4 GB DDR3  ( very cheap )
or 6 GPU: Gigabyte H110D3A,  x2 CPU intel celeron, 4 GB DDR4

If you can get graphic cards at msrp then it's good to go, right now graphic cards are way too over priced because crypto mining is Profitable again, you can just build limited rigs right now and wait for later to build others, I went with 6 GPUs days ago and it's up and running already

Yeah I definitely won't invest over 4-5k in a rig right now due to price fluctuations.

for mobo any cheap ones are good tb250,h110 with celeron cpu, if you will use windows then get 8g ram and cheap ssd 120g. for psu get good one it is very important like evga 1200-1600w it depends what gpu you have

I'm not sure you can get away with a cheap motherboard if you're going to stuff it with a fat GPU because nobody makes motherboards that have chipsets for low-end CPUs, you'll only find one off-the-shelf that works with your GPUs if your chipsets are something similar to an LGA-115x or an LGA-2066 (for i9-7980XE and 9980XE). The "x" is actually a bunch of numbers that each represent a CPU from the core i3/5/7 era.

And sourcing a compatible CPU for that kind of chipset will eat into your budget. Also if you use an old CPU you will have trouble finding a motherboard for it that also fits a recent GPU. You're actually better off with an AMD motherboard that uses socket AM4, and get one of their recent Athlons. They're cheaper than Intel's too because they don't gloat the prices of their parts.

I have only good things to say about Athlons. I ran one in tough environmental conditions for a couple years (Athlon 64 X2), lasted well if I underclocked it's frequency from software to a slightly lower step  Smiley I'm sure they'll withstand mining operations.

it is not good time to build a rig because price are too high, if you can find with good price get rtx 3060ti or rtx 3080 go ahead it will be easy with nvidia to begin.

You forgot to say one small but high important information. What is your budget for that? Everything after depends on how much money you can spend to buy a mining hardware.
I suggest you check https://whattomine.com/ where you can compare different hardware and his profitability. then you will be able to calculate for yourself what equipment you can buy and what to expect from it.

I'd say I would be able to spend €4-6k on a starting rig

If I see I can make earnings, then I have a way to get a $0.04 kWh electricity plan and would be able to invest about another €16k.
