When I saw his post history I thought that all those threads could have been moved to the News section, but yeah, I agree that there is a very thin line between what he is doing and what is against the "rules" according to the theymos.

I'm not a forum police, but I do report some posts, so It's good to know what is crossing the line, in order not to waste both mine and Mods' time.

Not sure but can't be illegal as his/her posts are in relevant threads I mean bitcoin is in bitcoin board, and others in related threads.

Yeah he is kinda promoting his website i thinking it will come under spamming only if he starts posting same link again and again.

dogs are cute.
Theymos's stance on such behaviour:
It occurred to me that I should write a little about this in case anyone's wondering about what dogie's doing, or why other people are getting banned for somewhat similar activity:

Ads are typically not allowed in posts (outside of the signature area) because they are annoying and off-topic. It is especially disallowed to put ads or signatures at the bottom of all of your posts. Except for traditional valedictions, which are tolerated but discouraged, signatures are for the signature area only.

However, if you are using the forum as a publishing platform to host something really substantial and useful, selling ads in that substantial work is allowed. To be eligible for this, your post must be in a topic that you started, and your post must be substantial and long enough to make the ad seem entirely insignificant. If in doubt, ask me.

Spear the bees
This is not explicitly against the rules (as far as I can tell after reading them over three times) but is certainly annoying. I don't know if you really want to impose any restrictions on this because then we run into problems of 'what is too much' link advertising.

You should definitely be allowed to post while linking to another site for further information.

But the third quote is definitely delete-worthy. They don't even finish their sentence.

coinpediaJordan is posting his publications all over the forum. It's a kind of advertising his news site and generating traffic, which maybe is OK but scattering posts around in every possible board I think is a bit too much.
This should be allowed only in the News Section.
